When Fred calls Super Chicken "Cassius", he is referring to Cassius Clay, who was better known as Muhammad Ali. I think that he was in jail for refusing to be drafted into going to Vìetnam when this cartoon came out, and wouldn't get to fight again until 1970.

John Wayne voice saying SUPER CHICKEN at 3:38 absolutely classic !! I woke up this morning remembering that one line from years ago. I google it and wham !!! here is the vid :) love it !!

They were completely twisted these cartoons. I remember the one about literal money laundry episode. Super Chicken ended up flying home full of laundry soap.
