I played Super Don Quijote on a Arcade Machine at a beach in the Toscana in Italy in 1986 when i was 10y. Nice memories!

Super Don Quix-ote is an arcade laserdisc video game developed and published by Universal in 1984 for Universal System 1. it was the first and only game released for the Universal System 1, a standardized laserdisc video game system, several other games were planned for this cabinet, but were never released. This HD version runs on Singe 2 Engine.

As this game shares its namesake with me, I really want to play it. Sadly, I don't have the means to play it or any other laserdisc game outside of the Don Bluth trio and Thayer's Quest/Shadoan.

Both Dragon's Lair games, and Space Ace are playable on at least the Switch.

@@goofusmaximus1482 Turns out there's some truth to this game than what a lot of people would make you think. The original story by Miguel De Cervantes opened with Alonso Quixano being obsessed with reading a lot of "chivalric romance" stories to the point where he envisions himself in that type of fantasy. It got to the point where he goes insane and believes he's a knight, and calls himself Don Quixote. Considering the game's flyer stated "A Fantasy of Romance and Adventure created by Don Quix-ote", it means the people who made this game is like "Yes, this is our interpretation of what the old man envisioned."

There's also *Time Traveler* which is made by the same people that used live action actors, and a holographic display. Same gameplay.

I only wver saw one of these cabinets in the UK. I played a few time, remember it being very hard

Finished the game. It was at my local 7 Eleven convenience store. I also watched the game malfunction were it showed every death scene and footage that usually isn’t part of the game.
