I have the 19'. These are great bikes! I wheelied so much that the headlight screw plastic nut actually broke. If this happens, you can get a carbon one printed and problem solved. Apparently it's a pretty widespread issue despite the fact that you let it down gently as opposed to playing basketball with the front tire. Great video, keep them coming!

Kischardio see ever since I switched to the superduke I haven’t felt that. Like the whole like power wheelies 1st 2nd and 3rd fear thing I have never even remotely gotten a power wheelie in third out of the SDR regardless of what I do and sometimes I’m like “man I want to swap SDRs with someone who has one so I can see if it’s just my bike” like mine will power 1st of course 2nd is pretty inconsistent with out just hard jamming the throttle. Unlike the fz10 which quick shift first to second it would wheelie like it was an airplane and it was its job. Wonder if I should just throw my bike on a dyno it has a cat delete and I did a rapid bikes module with the Akra map.

I own a 15' SDR and love seeing others in action. When I see other riders utilising the newer model features it makes me think, are these rider aids helpfull? or are they reducing the riders skill and confidence. If you learn the power of the bike without the electronics it seems to be be more beneficial. I turn off TC and ABS when I'm playing around, Then keep ABS on for those unpredictable mountain roads. I thank the gods for the new safety features on these bikes, They need it. I would highly stress to anyone that skill is the only thing you should rely on. Not electronics. Shut up and practice like motojitsu, Learn the bike. Stay safe. Just an observation. What do you think?

Hello from Canada! I have a 2017 Superduke too! Launch control was a bit of a bitch to learn almost looped the bike once. It's not so much of a dropping of the clutch as it is a quick smooth release. When I use launch control in my car i compare the speed of lifting my clutch foot as if I was lifting my foot up after stepping in sticky dog shit. Not too fast, not too slow. Goldilocks zone! If I get to do a trip down to Cali on my bike next summer I'll hit you up, but for now the snow is about to start falling. Time to store the bike for Winter :( Goodluck, have fun and stay safe dude!

Kish, I apologize if you've already covered this. Have you done any fueling/ecu programming post exhaust upgrade? Im hearing alot of reversion (unburnt fuel making a popping sound when you close the throttle) which sounds awesome. Also, did you pay for the quick shifter or are you rockin it old school? Im really, really, really interested in a super duke but owning a KTM kind of scares me given there are very few forums with quality information available. Lastly, how is the high speed stability? Do you feel as though you need a steering stabilizer to keep the front end from feeling too light?
@Kischardio6 жыл бұрын
Great questions! 1. I did the KTM factory “Akrapovic racing map” that they sell along with the full akra evolution system for the super duke. The akra map is just an ECU software, and any KTM dealer with the XC-1 tool should be able to do it (be careful of Cali... emissions standards) 2. I paid for the track pack to unlock the quickshifter. Upshifts are okay, but the autodownblips are amazing 3. High speed stability is good up until about 140mph. From there forward, it gets a little bit squirrelly... but nothing too crazy. It has a steering damper behind the forks, but I’ve been considering adding a second one. I did a recent video where I pushed up to 168... you can take a look and see for yourself! Oh and on the front end feeling light, I find on this bike that it’s either wheelieing or not. There’s not that weird in between phase that I used to feel on the fz10 and tuono... so unless you’re constantly wheelieing or going 150+, I don’t think another damper is needed
@Magsz6 жыл бұрын
Fanfreakintastic reply. Thank you. Information for these bikes is so few and far between, at least for the 2017 plus model year that isnt a paid for, shill advertisement. I wasn't necessarily going to go with an Akra can so I was wondering what my fuel tuning options were going to be. Regarding fueling, how is the bike post map change? Low speed fueling? Most twins tend to "stutter" at low speed regardless but im curious as to how the bike putts around in say, traffic. I dont think ive ever seen you in traffic in any of your videos so I'm not even sure you've experienced that. :P Last but not least, how is the heat? The Ducati twin's will literally cook your nuts and turn your man goo into poached egg whites. It was awful on my Multistrada and doubly worse on the Monster 1200 S and R that I test rode.
@Kischardio6 жыл бұрын
Ian Goodman heat is a total non-issue on the super duke. I’ve been on several Ducati’s and I totally agree- they’re wayyyy too hot. As far as fueling, the akra map was good for the AR pipe when the motor was up to temp, but the idle was too choppy at low temp... so my KTM tech used the XC-1 tool to manually raise the idle levels so that the bike idled at a normal level when cold started. When riding in traffic, no real chugginess or issues at all honestly. This things got massive torque and kind of just plows through. My Fz10 was choppier at low speed. This is very manageable- I’ll include some traffic video in future videos!
@Gizkot6 жыл бұрын
You´ve said to your mate "wheelie off, traction control on", then that´s only possible in track mode and the figures on your speedo aren´t in red. Why not? Thank you very much I really enjoy your videos and I will start my wheelie practice with my Superduke 1290 R soon!!

@Kischardio6 жыл бұрын
It's definitely more premium, but not a huge change from the Fz10. I loved certain things about both of them. The big thing that makes the super duke worth it for me is the styling/attitude. Performance and fun wise, it's not hugely different from the Fz10!
