Kelechi Iheanacho was the man to replace Okocha as a natural no 10 but the useless Super Eagles coaches and NFF has been deploying him as a centre forward and a winger without seeing why ManCity and Leicester deployed in those positions was because they already had established players fir the no 10. Coming to the national team NFF with their corruption knowing fully well that that's Kelechi''s natural position kept on forcing Iwobi in that position and inherit it because of his uncle is Jay Jay.

Your proposed solution could work, but I believe the real problem lies with the NFF. Why are new talents no longer being discovered at the grassroots level? It’s because the NFF is not taking the necessary steps. The truth is, have we truly looked inward? Have we thoroughly searched at the grassroots level? Instead, we are overly focused on foreign-based players, while the NFF continues to neglect what needs to be done.

I think you missed the point. Great coaches and managers have on occasions, modified the roles and sometimes, positional play of their players. We have seen that many times. Moses Simon possesses some of the abilities a midfielder need to thrive. Ejuke will be better suited but he has to stay fit and be regular in the team.

Has it ever crossed anyone's mind that Moses Simon could be converted into that midfield maestro? I just can't shake off the feeling that Moses Simon has what it takes for that role. Well, that's just my opinion.

Why would you want to convert a forward/ winger to a midfielder? A midfielder has different technical skill sets from a striker. Most midfielders are the backbone and coaches of the game, their ability to read the game is the must crucial asset. Strikers are typically agile with a killer instinct to get the ball past the defense. Can a few midfielders play as a forward? Yes but the reverse isn’t always the case, you can play a striker in a wing position (not particularly a winger) but you can almost never play a striker and winger in a midfield position. A better understanding of the game is key, and please let’s stop this Nigerianess of wanting to convert everything, we convert car models, convert residential buildings to club houses and hotels, convert this convert that. Technical knowledge will always beat trying to will your way through things. Cheers brother ❤

I think you missed the point. Great coaches and managers have on occasions, modified the roles and sometimes, positional play of their players. We have seen that many times. Some of our players plying their crafts in Europe are not even playing in their natural roles. Nothing Nigerian about that! My observation is that Moses Simon possesses some of the abilities a midfielder need to thrive. Ejuke will be better suited for that role but he has to stay fit and be regular in the team.

@@LarryJames-i4c you still don’t see it. I’ll buttress on two points. Many of our players who do well abroad don’t do well simply because the manager try them in modified positions, they do well because they were placed in their natural positions. Simply because a player thinks he’s a midfielder or wants to be a midfielder doesn’t equate him having the abilities to be a good midfielder (which is where the “nigerianess” comes in, which I’ll explain in a bit) secondly, like you said great coaches, what makes a great coach is the uncanny ability to identify a position which perfectly fit a player so if our players are “played out of position” in a great coach/manager squad list, then maybe they’ve been playing the wrong position all their life before that time. Do you understand it? Ofcourse their individual brilliance has pushed them through some time but when they meet a great coach/manager, they seem to just blossom. Now to the “nigerianess” of things, we seem to be enjoying the idea of being multifaceted and have the jack of all trade things. While it makes us versatile, it doesn’t make us great at what we do but ofcourse we’ve been conditioned by the environment to just go through that way, also we are people of faith and hope and think that because we believe so, the universe will bend someone to that wish. Can you believe that Taiye Taiwo played as a midfielder before becoming a phenom as a left back? Would he have performed as a midfielder? Maybe but would he be the phenom we know him as today, probably not. That’s the point I’m making. Iwobi has been a disappointment in the nigerian football team so far simply because we try to put his uncle’s image on him as a playmaker down the stretch but he has failed a lot in that position, meanwhile he excels exceptionally at Fulham playing from the flanks.

Why not try convert chukwueze in the middle!! he's flexible both as Messi & Salah and can be instrumental .. since he isn't muchly functional in his positioning so far despite how good he is

We still have JJ Okocha in these prayers. I remember the role Iheanacho played in the under 17 tournament. No coach has ever played him in that position. They keep using him as no 9. I am very sure he can fill that creative role if well planned out. He doesn't have pace anymore, but he has that creative spark and can score goals....

Can’t laugh Kelechi should be given number 10 Because he played it in U17. We are not serious as a nation then if kelechi is the one that would play our ten. He doesn’t even deserve to be at the bench. A player that no serious club wanted.
