Omg, Robin, i could cry..😭 when i get to the "4th yo, pull through" while making a puff, the stitches that are already sitting on a hook tighten and i am unable to pull the hook thru them without tightening them even more and the puff comes out looking shriveled up. 😭😭😭 how do you get the yarn to stay tall on the hook while pulling the rest of the puff's yo's onto it? I've done it over and over to try to figure out what goes wrong and it's as if that last 4th "yo-pull through" is too far for the hook and it ends up pulling the existing tall loops tighter and shorter.😭 please, help.😁🙏💖 *UPDATE*🎆🎉😁 So, i carefully got past the initial chain and the second row was an absolute breeze!! My fingers were still cramping from all the tension and suspense of the 1st row for a few minutes, omg 😂😂, but it's all good now!! And it's looking so puffy and even and just beautiful!!! Thanks for the tutorial, dear Robin!!!💖💖💖🧚♀️

So glad it is working out for you! The last couple of YO's will tighten up a bit but it's just a case of pull up as hiiiiiiiiiiigh as you can - it'll be plain sailing from here on out now you've got past that first row tho! :D x

Nice blanket and tutorial. But you are the only one I have ever heard say to "pull the yarn through all but the last loop on the hook" ! All the patterns I have ever read in 26 years say to pull through all the loops on the hook...it makes the top of the stitch look a bit different! Please don't take this as a complaint because it's not. You do a good job of explaining and I have watched many of your videos and enjoyed them 😊
@HookedbyRobin4 жыл бұрын
In all honesty, I do both ways for puff stitches! On my gloves (here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3Otn3t_mbFjrMk ) I pull through all the loops at once which gives much more compact puffs - it all depends on the look I'm after really! I've found that this way (pulling through all but that last loop) gives lighter, slightly taller puffs which is perfect for something like a blanket 😄 X

My first row looks fine when I do It and after my second row but after row three the bottom row puffs all go straggly with big loops. I have tried doing more rows to see if it does it further up but it doesn't they all look like they did when I did them. I have tried changing my tension but it still happens. I am using the same wool as you and the same size hook. Any ideas about what I am doing wrong? Thanks 😘😊🤗.
@HookedbyRobin5 жыл бұрын
Hmmm that's odd 🤔 I wonder if maybe going down to a 4mm hook would sort that? Do you have naturally looser tension? I can be quite an angry tight crocheter at times hence why I go up a bit in hook size for my puffs
@loominl62155 жыл бұрын
@@HookedbyRobin I have very tight tension and like I said the rest of the puffs are perfect. I will try a smaller hook but I like the size of the puffs on 5mm.Thanks for your help I appreciate it.😘😊🤗
