Super Easy Ripped Paper Photo Effect in Photoshop

I was thumbing through an older issue of Practical Photoshop Magazine (April 2018) and stumbled across this effect that I thought would be fun to share. With this Photoshop effect, you can make it look like you have a pencil drawing on ripped paper showing the real scene through the tear. Very nice; thank you. I also tried it with a simple white background, made the entire image a "sketch" and then with a mask, restored the entire principal subject. It turned out to be very interesting.
