Thank you for this video! The game is indeed a lot of fun. About those pillars, "extremely self-indulgent" is a kind way to describe something that makes the game much harder to play. If they were about half the size in all dimensions they would be great. I'm looking forward to the battle report!

Actually after playing a few times I love them, they really feel like part of the arena! I'm looking forward to painting them up to look like marble or something.

I'm thinking about creating some replacement "broken" statues that are half the height. Basically just battered portions of the pillars with the gems. Might be the way I go.

First, I was not sure I liked the look of this game, but I now think it looks fun. (Have yet to play it since I first heard of it.) I think it looks a lot like AEG's War Chest, and I only wish the base set would come with maybe 8 characters instead of 6? Hmm... Also, are the black and white rings and/or expansions required for 4 player, or does the original set support 4 players immediately?

I just hunted down the answer to the 4-player question: Looks like rules book (which I found on the official site) says a 4-player game requires 8 champions, so my random suggestion to include 8 instead of 6 in the core box was actually spot on haha

P.S. Regarding my black/white rings question, which I did not answer earlier -- The rules book and this video show 8 rings come in the core box: 4 purple/blue, 4 orange. So, if you have 8 champions, you should be good to play 2v2.
