Haven't tried making for one that size, may I recommend measuring around the baby's under arms. Do a swatch, give measure the gauge, That will give you your answer. Remember baby's need growing space ☺️

As I did this size for new born, for 6 months, I would measure the baby, with a few extra stiches for growth, Then go from there making the garment in the square fashion, Using this method would give you any size, for any baby age
