For decades, I've been convinced I had autoimmune. Nothing ever showed up on labs. Per new rheumatologist, I likely have psoriatic arthritis which NEVER shows up on labs. The medical community can be so frustrating.

As an artist/illustrator and an art teacher, have to say that the Crayola watercolor pencils are a great pencil for the price! My students use them both as regular colored pencils and as watercolor pencils.

Inktense pencils are water soluble, vibrant colours and so many people rave about them…I would recommend them 😊

Yeah, it seems that there are some years that just need to be over because they are years from hell. We just decided to only think about one day at a time. It really helped. We had two kids with serious problems, and both sets of aging parents were needing help. It was nuts.

I really like the overhead unboxing angle because it’s easier to see the goodies you’re sharing. Great haul! I can’t wait to see what you create with the gel printing plate. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m intrigued!

You need to play with water with the ecoline 😊 They're watercolor markers and play very well when you come back with a wet brush to soften edges and blend colors!

Just remember that just like watercolour paper matters. They won’t flow anywhere near as well as if you use them on watercolour paper and don’t leave them for too long before adding water.

Artisto 72 watercolors set is awesome they go on pigmented and they blend totally out like the better brands on watercolor paper. Frugal crafter has a great review on them. They go on sale all the time. I got them 40% off and beat myself up for not getting the regular ones after I really liked them. Just wish they had bigger sets. 😂

I just re melted and formed my homemade gell plate from 15 years ago. I haven't played with it yet, but I was surprised at the longevity of the homemade plate.

I know all about MRI's and the unknown. I have been going thru a lot of issues and no one can really do anything and of course very little known for what I have. And they just keep finding more stuff that I wasn't even having trouble with. AHHHH. I do have a couple suggestions for watercolor pencils. I have been using Generals Kimberly 24 pack and Milan 24 pack. They dissolve very well with water. Still look bright. Hope that helps.

Hi Amy. Oh, gelli printing is so much fun and addictive. I started several years ago after coming across Robyn McClendon. She does more of a grunge style but she is amazing at getting wonderful textures and layers. I just started playing around on cheap copier paper. Have fun with it! 😊

I have both the gel press brand and gelli print brand and I don’t notice any difference! I have also used both a soft Brayer and hard brayer, without much difference either. Some people focus so much on the “rules” with gel printing, but I thinks it really doesn’t matter what you use...just have fun and experiment!

I had to pass my beautiful 13.7yo Labradoodle, the love of mine and hubby’s life, on Tuesday and it’s been a fekkin tough week as you can imagine….so was looking forward to just mulling around with my fave YT creator’s videos this weekend to distract myself from feeling all these feels, and this video was a blessing… except… now I want to buy more art supplies when I don’t need them ***le sigh*** 😂 At least in the Southern Hemisphere we’re coming into Spring, so it’s getting warmer and lighter… so have that to look forward to.

Ecoline are refillable BTW. You can use the Ecoline inks to refill. Lyra, Faber-Castell and Caran d’Ache do student grade versions of their pencils, BTW. (Swisscolor, Prismalo). You can get cheaper versions of their stuff that is still very good, but just not as lightfast. Giotto is a brand of children’s pencils in Italy that are surprisingly good. Stilnovo and Di Natura by Giotto are good pencils. I think they may do watercolour versions of their pencils. Lyra in general do brilliant, very high quality but cheaper versions of many expensive items. Their brush pens are great, so are their crayons and pencils. They are a very old and very well known company. They are owned by FILA, like Giotto.

I've heard good things about the Staedtler Karat Aquarell pencils and while they're not technically budget the 12 set of Derwent watercolour pencils goes pretty cheap (there's also their Academy line)

It’s frustrating that Royal Talens charges ridiculously high prices for the more popular colors of their sketchbooks. I would get one in light purple if the price wasn’t so much more than the same thing in different colors.

The colors and black are all priced exactly the same on Blick Art materials. Only the size will change the price. I'm not sure why they are different proces on Amazon but I would assume it has to do with Amazon and not royal talent? I could be wrong though. Thansk for watching and commenting!

With watercolor pencils it’s difficult to go with a budget or less expensive type because of the way they write and look on the paper. The biggest difference that I notice and love about Faber Castell Albrecht Durer and Caran Dache Museum Aquarelle pencils is the softness and creamy texture when they go down onto the paper. They are so beautiful and soft. Other pencils seem so scratchy and sub par to the more expensive brands. I’m afraid I’m spoiled and don’t want anything less. If I didn’t have the money to buy a big set I would try just buying a few pencils at a time. Or save up. Also, I’m wondering how that works when you decide to suspend patreon for a month? Do you refund your patrons their money for that month? I hope you can get answers soon that you’ve been worried about.

I'm using them for some illustration practice and they work just fine for that! But if I was doing more of a fine art piece I would probably want a better quality and as far as lightfastness, then for sure! As far as patreon, they aren't charged for that month. So if someone's subscription normally renews on the first of every month (for example) they won't be charged on September 1st, but they will be charged again on October 1st. There is no new content for that month but they have free access to all the older content for that month at no charge to them. Thanks for watching!

Amy don't quote me on this but I think speedball is only for ink not acrylic paint. Check it out before you use it. Hope I'm wrong but I don't think so.

This is the speedball soft rubber brayer? I had several people tell me they used it with acrylic paint on a gel plate, so hopefully it works. I'll have to try it and see I guess. It does say it works with both oil based and water based mediums on the box. Fingers crossed! Do you know a brand of brayer that might be a better choice? Let me know and thanks for watching!
