As a neuroscientist and engineer please please please 1) ask everyone to wear an accelerometer to quantify the force of each slap and 2) have the contestants agree to donate their brains to science post-mortem for histological examination. The higher N the better. We could never ethically gather this kind of data but if people know the risk and willingly participate it’s a different story…. It’s a potential goldmine of data for understanding brain injury.
