Heechul is traumatized because of a voice crack less than a year after the debut. He was massacred because of that. And the worst? It wasn't the antis - it was the fandom. They demanded he be kicked out of the group, saying that he would bring the others down, that he should just keep working on his acting career and leave SJ alone. It destroyed his confidence. And then there was the car accident. Once again people were attacking him, calling him lazy, some even said he got into a car accident to avoid the military. Crazy people. Heenim only started getting his confidence back in 2016/2017 singing with Min Kyung Hoon (even tho Kyuhyun kept telling him he loves his voice and loves when he sings - boy even got his hyung's voice in a mp3 to listen to). I hope someday he can recover from all the hurt and find his confidence again. PS: I'm in tears - You love my Dongdong! **sobs**

Donghae is an all around idol. He is an amazing dancer and has written some songs for super junior but mainly for the D&E subunit. Blue moon was composed by him. He is actually really shy an not until recently he started to have more solo activities.

What is amazing about Super Junior is every single one of them can sing, and their voices have different appeal and mean something to different people. Even though KRY are almost untouchable in their vocal capabilities, there are fans whose fave vocalist is not any of the three. Super Junior is really an open buffet to the senses, lol; there are different types of the 'brighter' voices (sweet & mellow Eeteuk, earnest, rockish-vibe Heechul, nasally & unique Donghae, vibey, fun Eunhyuk, crystal-clear angelic Ryeowook) and different types of 'darker' voices (husky, breathy Yesung, slightly gritty, R&B-ish Shindong, flat but velvet-smooth Siwon, rich & resonant Kyuhyun).

It seems ironic that you cried twice because of Shindong while in suju every member has chosen him as the funniest one in the group 😃. Shindong has a big heart, he's never discouraged that since their debut he got the least lines in any song (he even made joke of it in their latest guest in Knowing Brothers), n also in the beginning people mocked him why he's in an idol group because of his body size. Actually, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk n Shindong are the ones who get easily cry in their concerts whenever there was touching moments. Shindong's also one of the most intelligent members, you should watch his tv show, Great Escape. Wow you are so in tune with all the emotions of all the members. Leeteuk was nervous because of his performance. That girl was his "wife" for a reality show were they pair off 2 celebrities and have them act like if they are married. He was definitely nervous about her reaction. There is another recording of another concert of the same tour and his performance showed much more confidence. You can also look for his SS6 solo cover of Bruno Mars' "Nothin' On You". Shindong - his performance was a his goodbye for the fans since he was going off to serve in the army. During that time he was under lots of stress since it was his first time directing a suju concert.

Totally agree that Ryeowook gets overlooked. On videos of SJ performances there are barely any comments about him. Even though he's one of the ones who does live vocals the most, you can hear him over everyone, picking up other people's parts when they're missing etc. I'll go to the comments excited and there's barely anything there 😳😅. His talent is incredible and his voice is so rare in the West! I think he deserves more recognition. I'm so glad KRY exists so he can do ballads and get the best of both worlds. Donghae is BRILLIANT with his music. And you're so spot on again, he's really got his own personal style. Hyukjae is a fluid, effortlessly calculated dancer whilst Donghae is more of a power dancer (big movements, less precise) but the two together as D&E is just explosive. Donghae's unique nasally voice is my third fave in the overall group (after Yesung and Kangin) even though he's more on the 'brighter' side.

Again, I'm commenting as I'm watching you. It's scary how you're so spot on with Heechul. In the early days, his voice cracked in one of the performances. He faced terrible backlash from the Korean fans (sad, isn't it, which is why we international fans always feel so uggh against K-ELF) which really caused a dent in his confidence to the point he told the company not to give him singing parts and even contemplated leaving the group. But thankfully members knocked some sense into him. He's got back his confidence slowly and Evanesce was the pinnacle where he finally really got comfortable with his vocals and capability.

The girl Leeteuk serenaded is Kang Sora, an actress. She was his virtual wife in We Got Married season 3. This was during SS4. There were also bts where Sora met super junior backstage. If I’m not mistaken and remembered correctly, Shindong cried during their SS6 because he was emotionally and mentally drained at that time. I don’t remember which show or interview he said that, the other members were also there with him when they reminisced that concert.

Ryeowook has my favorite singing voice today. Maybe of all time honestly. His voice is so precious and soft at times and he’s also this small and precious person but he has so much power behind his voice too. He can make the entire world shake when he wants to. He also has a lot more range to his voice than people would assume. In Burn the Floor it’s him at the end which shocked a lot of people when they found out 😅.

about heechul.. he was one of super junior's lead singers and dancers. however in 2006, during super junior's live performance of "U" heechul's voice cracked, and korean netizens extremely criticized him and he got a huge backlash from it + he was involved in a car accident. that made him lose confidence in singing. later on, his position in suju changed to rapper and sub vocal. please do check more of his songs! he has a lot of great songs in M&D (kim heechul & kim jungmo), collabs with other artists such as with mamamoo wheein and min kyunghoon. i recommend you watching his performance of these songs "sweet dreams," "falling blossoms," "spring days of my life," "close your mouth," "narcissus," "moon crystal" and his performances on king of the masked singer.

Ryeowook's voice is really beautiful and unique bec how many male voices have you heard that sound that high and angelic. It's so crazy how Super Junior has KRY - the combination of the best three types of voices (husky, rich, angelic). You're spot on again with Ryeowook having an ear for pitch. He's one of those few people who is pitch-perfect and can easily get into the right key. I think for his solo stuff, Ryeowook is so clever with his dynamics. But for some SJ songs, esp when singing live, he can be a little showy sometimes 😅 Ryeowook's voice is unique but it's not the cup of tea for most people. Personally for myself, even though I love his voice, he's not high on my personal list of fave SJ vocals simply bec I'm more partial to the darker voices. But anyone who discredits his incredible voice has just bad taste, really.

Shindong, ugh... He's my 4th fave voice (after Yesung, Kangin, Donghae). I really love the grittiness in his voice. He's so good in R&B songs. you are not wrong when you said Heechul might not sound as confident... I see some replies that already explained on the once cracked voice he had during live stage loooong ago and the backlash he got onwards. and I love it when you mention something about his masculine voice vibes or sort bcs I am having that impression on him too. he is pretty in the group but so manly in singing. You can check out his duet with Min Kyung Hoon too. His confidence is only getting better from one song to another. (The latest is Hanryang - Heechul, Min Kyunghoon ft. Bibi; where it is a satirical rap song. I am hooked to this big time!) You are not wrong when you sense that nervousness on Leeteuk too. imo it make sense given the performance is dedicated to his partner Kang Sora during their We Got Married program era. Am glad you pick on Donghae's Blue Moon. personally I love it a lil more than California Love 🤭 tho both are awesome regardless. and again you are not wrong about how he loves his music work. Donghae is so dedicated in his work. he is so considerate towards us, giving us newer rendition/arrangement to his existing song, showing the process and etc. he is so versatile! I'm in my 11th year in the fandom and i gotta admit i never really recognised/acknowledged ryeowook's vocal capabilities before. I totally loved him as a person but i just never realised how powerful his voice was. Only in recent years, i didn't remember at what point, but i totally fell in love with his voice. Your analysis on Heechul's singing here is spot on..... He received a terrible backlash due to a small voice crack during one of their live debut performance song. He lost his confidence in singing for a while. However, he's quite a defiant character with a very confident and strong personality, so despite the ordeal he has been releasing some fun solo songs and ballads since 2011. Heechul's most natural and preferred singing style is Rock-Ballads which you can hear in his voice too. He nearly debuted with TraxX, SM in 2004 as a KRock band at the time as both his style and voice at the time suited pop-rock which he loved. I particularly love his un-pretenciousness and non-performatory singing style. His voice has this grit and melo raspiness that sends my senses to ethereal places! Also his deep, crackly sounds yet so gentle but deep reaching, and his suprise high notes when he feels like it! Heechul formed a duo called M&D with Kim Jungmo, a friend and SM artist (TraxX).... you can listen to 'Ulsanbawi' and 'Narcissus' with Wheein (Mamamoo)....... with this duo, Heechul writes, composes and sings, while Jungmo is on the guitar composed by himself. They've released many beautiful songs, including live performances between 2011 till 2015 and they've both served in the millitary each. Heechul was enlisted late September 2011-2013. In 2016, for Knowing Bros/Men on a Mission year end variety show party/competitions, Heechul & Min Kyunghoon became partners and have released successful songs for the variety show every 2 years such as Sweet Dreams, After Effects and Hanryang. Guess what Kyunghoon is also a Rock-Ballad lead vocalist for the once popular but short-lived fame Rock band 'Buzz! These two complimented each other beautifully, where Heechul looked after Kyunghoon and was his back bone in Variety shows . He defends Kyunghoon at every turn, and encourages him to speak up, which helped Kyunghoon become confident, blended in better and has flourished with Heechul's warmth and support over the years in the programme. Thus, on the other hand, Heechul shone so brightly singing and performing with Min Kyunghoon. Rock-Ballad is Heechul's comfort zone, and he found a caring partner who nudges him on and perfectly compliment his singing style! Also, Kyuhyun of SUJU has always been a fan of Heechul's voice from day one.... I guess he hears and feels the same emotions Heechul's voice evokes in me! Check out 'Charm of Life' which is Heechul's rap song with Eunhyuk and Shindong + Mamamoo's Solar lending her voice! It was a fun clapback to nay sayers! Besides these songs I've listed here, there are many more solos and collaborations with Heechul to list a few. Ryeowook's voice is purely crystal clear bliss! Endless high notes, the highest pitched voice in SUJU, and you can hear the confidence in it anytime. As high and lovely as he can sing....his voice lacks character and depth for me though, it's just straight-forward with no story to tell. Leeteuk's voice is very underated just like many others in the group. His voice is consistently soft and sweet, He can serenade me anytime! Donghae's voice of the older days were much easier on the ear, nowadays he's become too nasally and strained for my liking, and I think it stemed in recent years from pressure. Shindong has a lovely depth to his voice but unfortunately he's never given any singing parts especially in the beginning. His role and position at debut was dance, himself, Hyukjae and Hangeng were the main dance line. Shindong was actually a dance major, and still is an amazing dancer but as you would've noticed by now most of them are multi-talented so were able to break their initial debut roles and positions to dance, sing, rap and play instruments. Recently, Shindong now has more singing parts!

Shindong rarely get lines in his group and when he does it's usually rap. But let me tell you his vocal is no joke and I cry everytime especially when listening to his stage. There are only two groups in all of Kpop that tugs at my heart and they're Super Junior and Girls' Generation. Shindong, Sungmin and Kangin are responsible for most of my tears with SuJu. As much as I love KRY those three always get me and are my favorite voices in the group. The same for Girls' Generation Jessica and Sunny. There's something about their voices that melts me. Power vocals and all are great but something is different about emotional voices that speaks directly to your souls and these 5 have that. I will had EXO D.O and the soloist KangtA to the list. These 7 SM idols have a love language only known to them and my heart.

As a group, the recent one is they were the guests in Knowing Brother episode 259 (although Leeteuk couldn't make it because he was sick at that time), which is last year. But individually, they have many recent ones, for example Eunhyuk 1 or 2 week ago became a guest in Running Man or Heechul with his Alcohol street fight and New World in Netflix, Kyuhyun with Single Inferno in Netflix, etc. Their own variety shows, the recent ones, are SJ Return in VLive app. So far they have 4 seasons (season 1 is about their preparation for the Blacksuit/ Play album and last year they finished season 4) and Super TV with 2 seasons.
