Thats why Indian Air Force pilots are some of the best in the world because An 12 has been the mainstay of IAF for many years and flying them in the Himalayas they don’t get stress disorders like other Air Force pilots do .

@@AirClipscom I have to hand it to the Russians. They have always designed interesting looking and very capable aircraft. I was surprised though at what appeared to be a requirement to 'muscle' that big boy, like the pilot was doing. I don't think I'd want that job.

There are many negative comments to condemn this aircraft...but we can check the previous record and count how many type of this aircraft was involved in crash compared to boeing or airbus. The most important things here is,this aircraft is almost use manually instruments control by human and not computerized. This is to proove that we can trust to human more then computer. Modern technology come with complicated problems and the biggest scary things about computer is its doesn't have fear if we compared with human.

Fantastic footage. Best wishes and safe flying. This looks like the aeronautical equivalent of driving an unforgiving heavy classic truck with a manual 18 speed non syncro gearbox! Are the 4 levers to the left engine power setting? I (non pilot) am quite surprised at how much stick input is called for. Once down, is if full stick forward to keep the nose firmly down?
