Super Mario 3D Land - Final Boss Battle & Ending

This is probably the most unique boss fight from any mario game. Its a race to the finish. most 2D mario games are just a huge bowser in the background while you climb up to the top. the devs put so much work into this nostalgia pack of a game.

3d world's final boss uses the exact same formula, so it's not that unique. also, that "huge bowser in the background while you climb up to the top" boss fight literally only happened in NSMB2, and nowhere else.

The nostalgia trip is real. I love how I remember beating this when I was about 6 on my 3ds.. Those where the good times. I remember being really sad that I had to let Bowser go into the lava, I was always sad that he had to be beaten in the Mario games when I was a kid. After playing 3D World....i honestly gotta say that 3D Land has the better boss fight. The climb up is more challenging. The breaking blocks makes you want to keep moving more than the Auto scrolling of 3D World. The final sprint in the second phase was actually epic and scary. Sure having Multiple Meowsers trying to hurt you is kinda epic but it never fully scared me like 3D Land. While the music in the first phase of Meowser is pretty dope, the music in 3D Land just....hits different bro. I honestly struggle to remember the second phase music for Meowser. 3D World is the better game, but 3D Land got the better final boss.

Well, 7 1/2 years ago anyway. I don't know when it came out in Japan but in the US it was released in November 2011. I remember getting this for my 18th birthday in December 2011. Of course, I had it beat by Christmas, but still, fun game.
