You will notice that normally they're STAGE bosses. "Custom" refers to that they didn't appear at Boss Roads.

I should mention that the custom bosses from Star Road are stage bosses in the original. Piranhas are from Tiny-Huge Island, Blueberry Bully aka Big Bully is from Lethal Lava Land. Most probably, the other custom bosses are as well stage bosses that have been put as Boss Road bosses.

The whole Star Revenge series also has ported bosses. Many of them have also some significant difficulty buff (unfortunately, mostly by enemy spamming, such as 5 Kuromame plus 5 Amps plus cannonballs rolling through, so it's not that creative).
