I love this version of the princess. Seriously, she's awesome in this! I also love the voice acting a lot in this! I'm not gonna lie, even though Bowser should NEVER attempt rapping, even for 90's standards, you at least tried to work with what you were given, and for that, I commend the effort. Not to mention Mario and Luigi are spot on! (Seriously, the art in this comic, though! Bowser with the dopey faces, the swami Toad, Peach with friggin' fire in her eyes? This is outrageously amazing!)

The production value on this is through the roof! Awesome work! I do have a few critiques though... Luigi sometimes stresses words in a not-so-natural way, like it's one of the first times reading through the lines. A few second-passes on those takes, with a different intonation, might have helped his delivery. I also think this was written before Mario had a canonical voice, more with his "Hotel Mario" persona than his "Mario 64" persona, with a deeper Brooklyn accent as opposed to Martinez' "Geppetto" impression. I do have to say that the imitations are quite good, given that the lines are a lot more complex than anything Mario typically says. Lots of tricky alliteration in this comic... Similarly, I think Peach could have had a different take on her voice, less the delicate flower we see of her in the later games, and something with more natural fire to it. This is one hot-headed princess in this version, and I'd love to see her cast with a more of an eye to an action girl than a princess, something a bit closer to Chie from Persona. I'd love to try my hand at getting together a cast for a different take on these characters, but I have no idea how I could even hope to dream to match the excellent editing work on this. The presentation is absolutely top-notch, including the musical numbers! Super kudos to you guys!

I have to admire this comic for giving the Mario characters so much personality (and these seeped into the later games). Back then, the games were all people had to go off of, and even the manuals didn’t even give much on the characters themselves. It’s an easy 10 out of 10 for not just taking the source material into a comedic, action-packed series, but turning it into its own experience at the same time.
