Super Mario Bros. 3 SNES: World 5-Spiral Tower

This is a short stage with an ending, but no victory or goal.
This tower's just a connection being World 5's land and its sky. Beating this stage takes Mario to the second half of this world's map.
If you want to go back, just take the Warp Pipe on the map that Mario just came out of. Going down through this is much, much quick than going up, because what goes up must come down.

I always loved the ambience of this level in the original game, it's like it was an empty boss stage and I don't know why but that always made me feel good

If you would keep breaking those blocks above that tunnel all the way to the right is at least 2 more extra men on the other side. Careful thought because if you fall, you have to start again.

going through this spiral tower brings a different feeling, especially in the yellow blocks area, I would say it's almost a liminal space feeling, or is it exactly that

Hey Carls493, I know for a fact that each of the eight in Super Mario Bros 3 are each based off of actual places in the real world. If you pay attention to the graphic design of each level, you might know what I'm taking about. But I'll tell you what they are: 1. Grass Land (World 1) is based on Tuscany, Italy. 2. Desert Land (World 2) is based on Alexandria, Egypt. 3. Water Land (World 3) is based on Zeeland, Netherlands. 4. Giant Land (World 4) is based on Reykjavik, Iceland. 5. Sky Land (World 5) is based on Forsand, Norway. 6. Iced Land (World 6) is based on Nunavut, Greenland. 7. Pipe Land (World 7) is based on Jersey, England. 8. Dark Land (World 8) is based on East Berlin, Germany. The level being played through here in the video is the spiral tower leading up to Sky Land from the ground. Since I said World 5 is based on Forsand, Norway, I guess you could say the level being played in the video is in Norway and the mushroom folk & king of Sky Land only speak Norwegian. The geography of Forsand is a LOT like what you see throughout World 5. Desert Land was OBVIOUSLY based upon Egypt. Zeeland in the Netherlands (the namesake of New Zealand) is on the ocean and floods frequently like Water Land in SMB3. World 6 is cold and icy as is Nunavut, Greenland since it's in the Arctic and cold year round. East Berlin in Germany being the model for Dark Land is just as obvious as Alexandria, Egypt being the model for Desert Land. Like East Berlin in Germany, Dark Land is heavily militarized with all of its tank brigades and underground pits full of lava and nuclear waste. Not to mention King Bowser Koopa is like a Soviet dictator and the dark part of Dark Land is obviously set inside of a tunnel under the Berlin Wall.
