The c64 version is an actual port, as the c64 has the same processor as the nes. so the only change is the graphics.

The fact that the SMD and C64 versions weren’t remakes as much as ports of the original code to other platforms make those the best of the bunch.

Since SilentDream's Super Mario Bros. + Remaster isn't here, I'll have to say C64. The music for the Genesis version isn't right.
