@@darrensmith9013 msbwii is great too, obviously not as good as wonder but for 2012 standards its awesome. People really only give it flac because aesthetically, U and nsb2 are very similar. But if you disect all the levels themselves its pretty unique, creative and fun - especially when grabbing your friends and chucking em off a ledge!

Both enemies and playable characters are and I love how they respond to the context of the situation they are in. I also love the flowers that mimic and respond to what the player may be feeling at different parts of the level.

I think these really are sprites. Not realtime 3D models as in NSMB. But rather pre-rendered models converted into sprites. Like in Donkey Kong Country (1994).

This does a few things I would NOT have expected for the typical formula for how these have been structured in the past. It does a partial repeat at a moment you'd expect it to "rest" for a few more measures, then it lays down without warning and does this totally atypical and somewhat lingering interlude thing with this willowly whistly sound thats was kind of hanging in the background all along and has this unexpected moment to shine.

We really have evolved from the old & classic "Bah bah!" to a brand new, joyful and especially *wonderful* "Dah Doo Doo Dah!" Incredible "Overworld" theme, astonishingly bright, colorful and full of life, it sounds so different from what we were used to in the past 2D Mario games that would at first make you wonder (no pun intended) whether it derived from a Mario game or not, it totally feels like such a breath of fresh air.
