I wish they had a throwback galaxy in the first since that related more to SM64. This game was like Super Mario World meets Super Mario Sunshine with the Yoshis and the Giant Bowser. The first one was SMB3 meets SM64. I wish the Koopalings could've appeared in the first game since it had the doomships like 3D Land did too.

This level looks better in Super Mario 64. A good example that it's not all about how much resolution or polygons you use. But I still loves that they put it in SM Galaxy 2. I didn't knew the first time I played it and was really surprised.

Whomp’s fortress was probably chosen because it fits Galaxy the best: floating in the middle of nowhere. A level like Bob-omb battlefield wouldn’t work as well because it implies the existence of a larger landmass

Super Mario 64 was a pretty easy game. At least Galaxy 2 has some challenging stages, which is a problem Galaxy and 64 shared. Yeah, the bosses are painfully easy, but that's been par for the course for nearly all the Mario games. A silly little marker can't really make it any easier than it already is.
