@@SenZo816 Nothing too crazy. Some balancing for the second Rice Track and minor edits on a certain track. There is a crash on the BSNES Accuracy core due to the ROM size being not correct. I will also attempt to make the Jungle Ruins track main road less busy so its easier to follow.

Actually, not exactly! You see, each track tints the racers with the lightning of the background, so this specific combination makes it seem the brown is the original color that DK J.R. had!

It should work, I used BSNES with HD mode 7 to record footage for this trailer. However I am aware that there is an issue with the BSNES Accuracy core. A patch will be released next week that addresses that (and other things)

It's really great - apart from the points system and a few of the tracks (namely those jungle ones) being perhaps a little too difficult in 150cc cup mode. Re: the points. A big part of the fun of Mario Kart for me growing up was eliminating from the top 4 a character who had been irritating me throughout a race by throwing stuff (usually Yoshi or Princess) or driving into me and stunning me (Luigi). Managing to slip them with a banana on the last lap and seeing their sad face at missing out on the points was my favourite part of Mario Kart, lol. The new ranking takes this away, whilst also making it too easy to advance to the next race. I'd love to see a patch to change it back to the exact same points system as the original. Otherwise, really great work. A genuine sequel to a classic game

@@williamdavidwilson6890 thanks for the comment. And no, there is no plan to do that. You might find it “easy” but the idea is to give chance to everyone to experience the tracks. Not advancing was just really a legacy old game design. This also helps make the hard mode more manageable as well. You can still mess up the CPU positions here with well placed items, and there are more tracks here that feature a loop jump.

@@gridatttack hmm isn't that the whole point of lives though? That you have to use them to replay the race if you fail to qualify the first time? Eventually you will qualify/work out how to make top 4 minimum.

I would have removed lives all together if I didn’t had the song of ranking out already done. There is a reason this mechanic stayed in the first 3 games; at this point the retry on Mario Kart is a legacy and obsolete thing.

No, there are no new characters added. The only unlockables are Mirror Mode and the Hard Mode.

This is INSANE... there is almost nothing that you didn't customize in this. The amount of work that went into this... how long did this take you?

@@naejimba it’s hard to quantify. I started modding the game over 10 years ago, as you can see on my older videos and how treacle have progressed. It was a period of on and off working, and there was. A huge gap in the middle where I worked and finished another hack, Sour Music Kart. Most of the time took in play treating the tracks. I tool about 3 months to work on and decide the custom palettes each track will use, as for the graphics and creation of the themes, add roughly 8 ish months? Music took the most amount it time, since it wasn’t me making it, just directing it; the back and forth took about 2 years overall. Cants really quantify with exact time; but a general time would Be around 4ish years of actually doing stuff.
