Super Mario Land: 32 Years Young - Roland Speak

Man, this was a blast from the past!! My older sister bought the original Game Boy shortly after it came out. It came with Zelda and we were terrible at it! I believe she got Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins first and then went back for this one. We played those two games to death all through the 90s and early 00s. The only other game she ever got was The Lion King game which...wasn't great in comparison. Six Golden Coins was a better game for sure as it had a lot more to it, but we had a ton of affection for this one too. I really enjoyed seeing it again and hearing the music! The only thing that was different is that when you played it on the original Game Boy it had the default background colors of light green and dark green. I think my sister still has her original Game Boy held together with an elastic band. We both got a Game Boy Advanced when it came out bc you could play the original Game Boy games on it. The only game we bought for those was Crash Bandicoot. We were simple gamers. I am however mildly horrified that this game was developed the year I was born...man I feel old. Seeing how you do a lot of videos on obscure games from that era, have you checked out Mario Teaches Typing? I feel like revisiting it today it would probably turn out to have been incredibly cursed. All I remember was some terrible Italian accents. It was more fun than Mavis Beacon though. The Sonic CD game however was a masterpiece and came free with my family's first computer! It was a seminal game for a lot of people my age. "Sonic Boom" is such a bop! Anyways, lots of fun seeing this again!!

I love the soundtrack but I’m appreciative of this game being different when the last 2D Mario was the 4th goddamn “NEW Super Mario Bros” but seriously Land 2 is a MAJOR ass improvement
