I like Alex's theory about the ice being present to reduce the heat of the window-counter, but ultimately, I would think that an apron resting there by itself would absorb enough of the heat that it wouldn't be a problem. It's possible that they were using the ice to weigh the apron down to keep it from flying away, but that raises the question; "Why not just use any other object that doesn't eventually yield a sloppy wet mess?" My only real guess could be that perhaps a disgruntled customer dumped all the ice onto the apron? But I'm assuming that the employees would clean it off as soon as possible, and it sounds like you guys saw the ice from a few car-lengths before reaching the window... This is quite the conundrum...

Tom thank you, the be a man Space Yoshi edit was too good. Also how does lining up at target 2 days before the wii release work, I get the night before but two nights?

Samuel Turner, it’s actually very similar to lining up the night before, but instead you go the night before THAT night.
@samuelturner60765 жыл бұрын
Double Oh Ess yes but do you just wait there for the next 48 ish hours? Do the staff know that the line is for a specific product? Can other customers enter the store or do they have to wait in line? If not, can’t they just enter the store and buy the product anyway whilst doing their shopping effectively skipping the line? I don’t get the logistics and specifics here in this particular situation because it’s not like your queueing for a whole store it’s just for a specific product, and even then I wasn’t aware that stores usually allowed and managed queues that spanned multiple days ie allowing people to stay and probably sleep on their property overnight. I’ve just done the whole Pokémon Center London fiasco but never were the queues allowed for two days in advanced, though they definitely could’ve gotten that long if they were allowed.
@doubleohess5 жыл бұрын
Samuel Turner you camp outside the store. People used to do it for games and still do for Apple products. So the store doesn’t allow anyone in and doesn’t technically condone most of the time, but people bring tents and literally camp in a line around the building. For console launches the staff will sometimes show up a few hours before and let people in, but other than that you’re on your own. I’m not sure on the legality/trespassing aspect, especially if someone gets injured. I just remember this being a thing when halo2/3 and Wrath of the Lich king came out.

"A-Ha" is definitely a weird one because I have only ever heard people pronounce the band name with the opposite emphasis to the exclamation. Maybe because it's too weird or confusing to just use the actual exclamation in the middle of a sentence? I dunno. I'm totally on Bret's side, but honestly I have no rational reason for it.

A-Ha would be "Ay - Ha" or "uh-HA" depending on how you say "a" as in "a thing". "Ah-Ha" is pronouncing an extra "H" that isn't there, otherwise it would be spelled "Ah-Ha" because "ah" is already a word. Big Think: HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
