I will admit I haven't finished the video at this point yet, but one thing I like about space hamster's levels, and something that I also try t do, is to make thing aesthetically pleasing, which he did marvelously, especially factoring in his balance of visuals and gameplay.

I'm happy PBG managed to beat the Waluigi level. I'd be disappointed if he didn't. Not disappointed with PBG, just disappointed. Also, I think it'd be really useful if it was possible to make certain enemies harmless, so that if they're not there to hurt the player (like the things you have to ride in the end of the level, I don't know their name), they won't. Hope I explained it well.

(2:15) That would be nice. I'd also like item gates, where you have to have collected a certain item to pass. You could place a block for the gate and place an item in that block to set the requirement, and if you have collected that item when you reach the gate, the block will disappear. If you shake the gate block, having that item will make the block appear. You could use this to make levels with secret paths, or have the powerup you have determine the layout of the level. It would also be nice if you could have keys that would work with these gates. I'd also like it if you could make levels taller or longer, or put more blocks or enemies in them (I actually run into those limits somewhat frequently, and I don't make very many Kaizo-esque levels that would use massive amounts of enemies, 100 just isn't enough for some normal levels)

"That part with the ice blocks is really the only part you have to go like fast in, if you want the easy route." But you told PBG that he needed to go fast for the part with the P door right before. You seem to care about your levels having good design, so let me give you feedback: The 1st section has got too many enemies: boos, dry bone, chain chomps, and the pointy beetle. With the P mechanics to take in account too, that's too much to put on the player's mind at once. An easy solution for doing specific inputs does not justify the unfairness of it. The section with the giant chain chomp starts off good because the player gets to identify the simple layout before the threat comes in at good speed (not too fast). But then, the focus of the player is at the bottom, the camera is on the platforms, and none of the two get a good look at the goombas that come and take a hit. The vines should help, but with the sudden shift in attention, that's also hard to comprehend fast enough. The section with the ice is not super good. Any player who doesn't rush in won't get to run on the blocks on time. They're stuck to attracting a boo away from the vine, then jumping to the vine, at which point the other boo dooms them. The non-ice blocks are good, though (good braking point). The bullet bills show up good, nothing to say. The section with the beetles needs more dynamic: It's fine to center the whole section around balancing the beetles, but you have to keep the player invested - give them any indication that's there's progress in a certain way. Coins, arrows, something to tell them "go straight" or whatever.
