Now that Nut Jumps and especially Cappy Return Cancels are a thing, it'd be cool to see a video like this which briefly explains how they work! That way, whenever somebody asks on-stream, you could tell them to use a command which links to the video. Also, I haven't been able to find any videos on CRCs despite how weird they are. (Also, Chinese Simplified is faster than Japanese now, y'all)

Very interesting and informative video. As someone who doesn't speed run (I started watching stuff after 100% the game but don't do anything) I was surprised that most of the things I knew about (usually by chance). Did not know about roll cancel (and thus anything that uses it), did not know about vaulting, the differing heights from a mid-air cap jump, shaking was faster in rolls and lastly, that LONG JUMPING SLOWS YOU DOWN. XD I always had been exiting rolls with long jumps thinking it was faster. Somehow stumbled upon buffering the spin jumps, but never thought to use it to ground pound. Turning in the air being faster I'm not sure when I found out, but the space themed places definitely confirmed what I had been suspecting. (Had thought it was just in my head) The visuals and commentary of this video definitely helped showcase the content you were talking about. Thanks for the amazing video!

Don't forget this: The aerial cap jump requires you to hold Y or X after diving, basically just throwing your cap, pressing zl + y then holding it. Make sure you don't fall when trying to do an aerial cap jump by just simply not holding the y or x button.

There’s one move I wish you explained more: the dive. You only mention it once while explaining how to do aerial cap jump. But how does diving’s momentum work? Does it set your horizontal momentum to a fixed speed, same as long jumping, or does it add to your current momentum? And if you land on ground during a dive, do you land with different amounts of horizontal momentum depending on where in the arc you were (moving horizontally or falling)? Thinking about my first question, my guess is that diving with ZL+X always results in the same horizontal momentum, since diving starts with a ground pound and ground pounds cancel horizontal momentum. Follow-up question, then: how does the horizontal speed of diving compare with the speeds of a full-speed run, a long jump, and a roll?
