I hope there will be also retro minigames because it would be weird to bring back old boards but not minigames. But considering theres 110 minigames I think there will be retro minigames too because 110 is a lot and that would require a lot more work to come up with ideas for 110 new minigames while remaking old minigames is a lot easier so there is a good chance there will be some retro minigames on top of new ones. And I agree I hope future mario party games will do it like mario kart that brings retro tracks on top of new tracks.

at 0:18 it shows the roster of characters once first starting up the game. however, ninji isn't there (despite being in the trailer at parts) so I am assuming that there will be unlockable characters. So to all people complaining about some characters being missing you might just have to unlock them. Edit: Personally I am a bit mad that pauline isn't shown, but I have faith that she will be unlockable.

Hmmm… Maybe Dry Bones, Hammer Bro, Diddy Kong, Blooper, Boom Boom, and Pom Pom can be unlockable Extra Characters just like we saw 4 Unlockable Characters in the first Game of Super Mario Party. More the Characters Starters and 6 Unlock-able Characters twice 2x the fun! In Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door there is already Characters that can join you on the title screen once you unlock them as joining your RPG Party Members. It was a great idea to add tweaks where Partners get added to the Title Screen as soon as each one joined your party. Maybe the Classic Boards that were from Mario Party 1 and 2 can also be unlockables too! Blooper, Hammer Bro, Boom Boom, and Pom Pom can be part of Bowser's Team while Dry Bones, and Diddy Kong will be on Mario's Team.

This is so hype! New boards look super creative and fun (A GOOD car board?), and seems like there's so much content (110 minigames!?) I wonder if the turns being displayed as a timeline has any significance? There's real potential to have some shenanigans with Kamek maybe adding an extra minigame to the timeline, or replace it with a 'Bowser' or battle minigame, or just throwing in some turn events that you have the opportunity to react to / prepare for.

I love EVERYTHING that I see in this trailer including the 7 boards!!! Thank you for keeping the joycon motion controls!!! I play with my friends and family and we play Super Mario Party and Mario Party 9 and 10 the most specifically for the insanity and fun of using motion controls!! I work with special needs clients and recently, I took my Nintendo Switch to work and brought Super Mario Party (many of my clients only have the use of one hand) and they just had the time of their lives playing mini games with so much excitement and joy from the motion controls. Many of my coworkers said they had such a blast that they were going to get Super Mario Party because they had no idea how much fun the game could be! Thank you Nintendo!!! I'm spreading the Nintendo joy!!! Just one favor, please bring back the Wii U concept of dual screen gameplay like Nintendo Land and Wii Party U!!!

What I'm wondering is: In the Yoshi racing minigame at 1:12, the playable characters are racing on Yoshis. But what if one of the players decide to play as Yoshi? Will the green Yoshi ride another Yoshi? Or will the green Yoshi run on his own? I wonder this because there was actually a cut minigame from Mario Party 1 called Yoshi's Tongue Meeting in which the player characters sat on varying colored Yoshis, trying to get a baby Wiggler to reunite with their mother with good timing. If Yoshi was a player character in this case, he'd have nobody on his back and just do it himself, which I thought was a neat touch. I wonder if they'll try something similar here.

Y’know, I could see the Mario Party series doing something just like the Mario Kart series in which they mix new and retro stages in each installment. Supplying a fresh load of new material in each game to keep things fresh and original, while also continuously bringing back content from the past to keep the spirit of the older games alive too. It’s something that could work especially well with the minigames, but it could work with the boards as well, as we clearly see in this trailer. If I’m correct in my assessment that this is the direction the Mario Party series is slowly turning in, then I’m all for it.

I think SuperStars was poorly marketed. Some people don't even realize it's the newest one and confuse it with Super Mario Party. So they might have decided to release a whole new game back under the Super mario Party label in order to make clear what the newest one is. Hopefully this one will get a lot of DLC support with new boards and such instead.
