For those complaining about the length, there is definitely more to do. This longplay was strictly just the story. There are plenty of side things to do and a super boss. Monstro village has quite a few side quests to do. Not to mention the post game stuff.

@@mrn7356 Racing Yoshis. The casino. Optional bosses. Messing around as a bellhop. Playing the game you purchase from the kid in Mushroom Kingdom. There's a fair amount of side stuff to do in this game. The problem is that, especially if you're experienced with the game, a lot of that doesn't really reward you with much that's worthwhile. Especially since the game is already so easy as is, you don't really need anything you don't just find in treasure boxes along the way. Making a lot of the side content more a matter of whether you enjoy the process of the side content, rather than doing it strictly for the rewards as you might in other games.

I wish they had used Mario's regular design rather than a unique "chibi" style for the sake of aesthetic but other than that this remake is a masterpiece which honors the original's legacy. Welldone Nintendo.

@@mauro27279 The original used "classic" designs based on the then recent Super Mario World by depicting Mario, Bowser and "Toadstool" with more detailed designs than the more simpler cartoony ones from the original NES games. The remake clearly took a more adorable aesthetic to give the game a more unique and memorable style than the simpler one from the original SNES version.

From what I read somewhere else, try to time it when Mario's shadow is right over the enemy. Haven't played the remake yet, and could never get far enough in the OG on the Super Jump, so not sure how effective that is.

I remember this game, specifically Smithy, being a lot harder as an 11 year old than how it appears here. How did you level up Peach so that all the boss attacks at the end only take a few hp at a time? As a kid I could only beat Smithy like twice and each time it took a whole bunch of rock candy and revives.

I felt the same way. I think the big difference is that you can switch party members mid-battle. In the original game, you were stuck with whoever you selected before each fight. Definitely helps a lot (and is 100% necessary in the post-game battles!)
