I thought she had power but I read on a fan wiki that she had to sacrificed herself for the wellbeing of her kingdom, that's why she lets Bowser kidnap her everytime so he doesn't do anything bad to the toadstools. Basically she was raised to be a ruler not a warrior, if she does try to fight Bowser then she may be risking her life and in turn leaving the Mushroom Kingdom at the claws of Bowser.

I found multiple flaws in this explanation: 1. Bowser junior says peach is his mom about halfway through the game,not at the end, because in the end bowser tells him that she isn’t. 2. Bowser locks peach in cages, and she screams for help 3. It says in multiple different games manuals that peach has been kidnapped by Bowser Maybe spend some time actually fact-checking next time. I know he did get married to someone (who’s name I can’t remember) and they both live happily together but both Peach and Mario are still on good terms. P.S.
