Hello. Remember the super dark world cotton alley mix I made two years back? Well, here's a dark world of that chapter.
Yes, I am insane. I really wanted to push the limit this time around and make the absolute hardest thing possible. Halfway through my recording process I kind of realized I've made a mistake.
Not sure if a lot of people care about this game anymore, but this was something I just wanted to do. Most of the levels differ quite a bit from the original, and once again the last two are made almost entirely from scratch.
If you can beat these levels easily, I'm fairly certain you can do anything in this game. Good luck.

This is the most aesthetically pleasing set of levels I've ever seen, woah.

The themes of this one are quite dark, as in literally dark. But also the kind of dark, that goes a little deeper on the real side of things, especially the music. Almost as if it's trying to convey and explain some kind of emotion or traumatic event.

The names of the levels are amazing. They're the classic SMB names that seem weird, but make perfect sense when you play the levels. Some of the names are a little bit too vain (like Too Much or Ultra Death), but the majority of them seem like they were ripped straight from SMB. Same with the visuals. This pack looks like it took years to decorate.

So I finally completed them all (9 months after I said I would but better late than never)! For a bit of fun, I thought I might give my opinions on them all, as well as a difficulty ranking at the end. I will eventually upload proof of completion on my channel, but for now - here are my thoughts in text form. 1 - Fairly straightforward. There isn't much to say. It has a few tricky jumps, such as the last one, but otherwise there is nothing much to this. The route is set out and the jumps are obvious 2 - Easiest level in the chapter. The upper section is so incredibly generous with time that you should have absolutely no problem at all. 3 - This level has a few mildly difficult jumps, but that is negated by its length. As with the previous two levels, it is too straightforward to pose much of a challenge. 4 - This one is definitely a real step up from the previous three. The aerial hovers you need to do are very finicky, and the wall slide up to the top section is pretty fucking tough. 5 - This level is deceptively simple. It is all too easy to overshoot and touch too many crumbling blocks, and the wall jumps in the mid section are fairly precise, especially given that you cannot exactly dawdle to line them up. 6 - Second easiest level in the chapter, but an incredibly fun and well-designed one. Really satisfying to play. 7 - While it isn't very innovative, the puzzle of how to get down is a pretty fun one, and requires an honestly surprising amount of precision. Good level. 8 - The most satisfying level in the chapter to play. Sadly, it is too short to pose any significant challenge. 9 - This level's name perfectly describes how I feel about it. The conveyor belts are so goddamn frustrating, and the really tight wall jump at the very end is so brutal. Not a nice level at all, and I am neither a fan of how it looks, nor the structure. 10 - Two clusterfucks in a row. If you didn't despise slopes in Super Meat Boy before, you will now. Like the previous level, the name is fairly accurate, as using slopes, crumbing blocks and rocket launchers is an absolute "sin" of level design. You will have SO many stupid deaths to slope fuckery, especially since you need to go really fast in the first section. And in the bottom section, you can be shot by rockets in so many ridiculous ways depending on how you break the crumbling blocks. Fuck this level. 11 - Fairly easy. There is just one difficult jump near the end. As long as you avoid bonking your head on the top part, you will be fine. 12 - This level took me way longer than it should have. It is straightforward, but that jump on the right side of the stage is disgusting. Outside of it, there isn't too much to it. 13 - This is the hardest level in the chapter in my opinion, but I have a hard time faulting it. Really fucking hard and brutal, but pretty fair. While this wasnt shown in Etalify's video, you can use an unorthodox wall jump at the very beginning of the stage that isn't too hard to pull off that allows you to get ahead by a tiny amount. I would recommend doing this over the normal path, as it allows you a little bit more flexibility regarding time later on. The only thing I explicitly don't like is the moving platform. That can definitely fuck you over a little bit due to wonky physics. 14 - This level is just a matter of going through the correct path. Once you have it down, there is not really much too it. Finding the strategy is harder than the execution in my honest opinion. 15 - There is barely anything to say about this level. Dodge, run, and most of all: pray to RNG. The jump to the end isn't that hard, thankfully. 16 - Platform physics, oh boy. Honestly though, this level is just another straightforward one. The trickiest part is getting enough height from the gravity orb to make it over the final saws. 17 - I don't know if I can give an honest review of this level, because I fluked it so hard. The jumps in the upper half of the level are utterly obscene, and it barely took me a couple of tries to complete it. Cool level at least. The slope at the beginning of the level needs to go though - that's just unnecessary. 18 - Level 15 on steroids, in that it relies on its RNG gimmick but 1000x worse. I can't say I found a strategy that works, but at least the end part is pretty easy. The wall jump to get the key at the start is awful though. 19 - This would have been the hardest level in the chapter, if it weren't for the fact that Etalify made a mistake in the level's design, and you can do a fairly precise but short wall jump on the locked gates to completely skip the most outrageous parts of the level, that being the upper-left section. Oh well, that is just how it goes. 20 - A really nice end to the chapter. Some really tight jumps and a nice progression to it. The wall jump to get the key on the lower-left is way harder than it looks though. Watch out for that. To sum it all up, there are some really nice levels here, and most aren't as hard as they first appear! If you are fairly decent at the game, I would consider giving them a shot. Overall, I had a lot of fun completing them, and I commend Etalify for creating them. I will also now give my ranking on the difficulties of the individual levels relative to one another, as I assume that is what people would be interested in. Remember: it's just opinion. You may have a different experience. Difficulty ranking, from hardest to easiest: Level 13 - Too Much Level 20 - Pointless Level 10 - Sin Level 09 - Disgust Level 19 - Holding On Level 18 - Nana Level 17 - Catharsis Level 15 - Letting Go Level 12 - Soldier Game Level 05 - Nowhere Level 07 - Further Level 16 - Memento Level 14 - Eyeless Level 11 - Ultra Death Level 04 - Mindbreak Level 08 - Tethers Level 03 - Karma Level 01 - Engage Level 06 - Vector Level 02 - Life

I had no specific inspirations, I just mainly wanted to use flashy and sort of aggressive colors and visuals, I've always thought that visuals like that convey an intimidating "final level" feel.

How does one edit waypoints in the Super Meat Boy editor? I know how to create waypoints, but the object just teleports between waypoints instead of moving. I can't find a way to edit the waypoints, can anyone help? Also, this is an amazing custom chapter!

ENGAGE can be easily done with Steve. Break into the block behind spawn. Or somehow clutch under to the other side with The Kid. There's no other character to clutch under besides The Kid. STEVE WAY: Keep jumping and placing blocks when necessary. You eventually will get it with this guide: Jump, Backwards, Jump To Floor, Block to Bandage Girl, Wallhop on the edge of the block, then get her. KID WAY: Double jump to the bottom edge of the way out, Do it with this guide: Wallhop to the edge of the way out. Get on the way out, don't sprint for the surface, or take a risk to not hit the saw. Double jump to the block to where @Etalify went right before he fell for Bandage Girl at 0:32. Then get her.
