Super Metroid - Any% Speedrun in

I'm happy to share that I just set a new personal best in the Any% category of Super Metroid with a time of 1:13:03.49!
I was aiming for under 1:15:00, so I’m happy with my time for now. I’ll work on any% runs without the Grappling Beam when I’m ready.
Super Metroid is definitely a challenging game to speedrun, especially with the randomness involved.
I now understand why it can lead to frustration for speedrunners of this game, but I focus on having fun and going with the flow.

This is so funny I stumbled on this I do a very similar route bc I still like grapple for draygon. For next steps I’d recommend skipping spazer, doesn’t really do much in early game and you’re getting plasma anyway for Ridley and MB. I also spark through fast pillars by going into the ripper room, it gives you enough run space and you can 2 tap it. Nice run!

FUNtoon: fanny was a fast fast slow mid. 34.7% odds to get that pattern. Behave baby skip.
