I remember when this game came out, saw a friend fighting Mother Brain (he had rented the game), thought to myself, oh same old boss fight I see. Well he defeated the first form, I'm thinking alright it's over. I wasn't ready for the bitch to actually have a body this time, completely caught me off guard, but prepared me for what I was to expect when I bought my copy weeks later. I still have that copy in original box to this day, a treasure of the SNES.

it's impossible to avoid that part. Even if you didn't get hit by it (wich someone has done) the game actually makes you take damage, the beam is just a graphical display, so technically it is a no-damge boss run.

What actually triggers Mother Brain to use it's drain beam? Time or damage? Your normal weapons don't seem to harm it. I know if you only have say a couple energy tanks, Mother Brain WILL kill you with that beam and the Metroid scene won't trigger.

+Wilson Nascimento Cool. Thanks I found a chart that lists the "HP" of each boss., and how many missiles/super missilies/charge beams each will take. Mother brain has 3600 hp in first form (before trigger) 2nd Incarnation has 7200 (when you have hyper beam).

How did you have Super Missiles at the Spore Spawn fight? I could've sworn that the only other way to get to the Super Missiles room is through a hole, but you need a Super Missile to even get through that.
