Lower Norfair is where the boss Ridley is located in Super Metroid, in Zero Mission (The remake of the original Metroid) the boss Ridley is in the area Ridley

super metroid is the best example for a game that never gave you a clue what to do next nor where to go next. I played this game as a kid and it wasn't so easy for me but I managed it anyway. today's games almost play themself (best e.g. mario galaxy) and most time it is just dumb button smashing or walking a given way. this is not just the best metroid ever, for me it is the best game ever made.

After playing through Metroid Prime, I remember a specific Pirate data pretty early in the game detailing that Samus had already been to Zebes, and that it had fallen to her previously. It was during the retreat that they found Tallon IV. The second part I'm not positive over, but that's my current theory.

The art booklet for the Trilogy re-release of the Prime games states that they take place between Metroid/Zero Mission and Metroid II. That's pretty official to me, though the theories on Ridley's regeneration are pretty much wild mass guessing to fill blanks.

The Pirate lore you refer to doesn't say that Zebes is destroyed, it says it has "fallen," and mentions the "destruction of the underground facilities," not of the entire planet After Super Metroid, all Metroids were gone (except for the clones in Fusion, but those were newly made). Yes, Ridley is recreated into Meta Ridley from his defeat in Metroid/Zero Mission, then appears to get a fully organic body in Super. It's common knowledge that the Prime series takes place before Super.

I took the .midi files (which sound incredibly fake), took them into cubase, and used symphonic orchestra as the output for each track (which are real, professionally recorded samples of hundreds of instruments). Then, I mixed it together, added reverb, EQd, and did whatever else to make it sound better.

theyre really not that unrelated, in dark souls you have to learn to deal with your surroundings, you're punished for not learning mechanics, bosses punish you if you dont handle them correctly, you can play super metroid in a very unlinear fashion if youre skilled enough, same with a lot of souls games, except the sequence breaking in souls is far more glitchier than in metroid. But yeah, I just think of super metroid as 2d dark souls without infinity frames. Funny enough, I made this comparison in my head the other day replaying super metroid. But, if you want a d2 dark souls, check out salt and sanctuary. You might like that,.

It does seem that i may have been incorrect, i accept the criticism humbly. However i am a child of the 90s and pay homage to Super Metroid as the premier space Odyssey. That being said i find some things that would be lined up with SM being after Primes to be ridiculous, such as the "magical" Ridley regeneration and the whole history behind Kraid and Phantoon would not make any sense, considering they were considered "dead" in Prime. honestly i believe the history to be a gamers imagination.

those are what wikis tell you, but it has not been confirmed by Sakamoto as far as I know. Retro made their own universe. Both universes dont reference one another perhaps a small tribute to mother brain in MP 3 but that is about it. Unless the man himself declares prime series being canon I strongly believe those timelines were just placed for having the satisfaction of 1 timeline. Ridley's theories on how he became mechanic then organic again are also just assumptions, nothing official.

I think for Wii U, Nintendo will make one of Three games: A Prequel to Metroid Zero Mission, A New Sub Series in the vein of Prime (e.g. Metroid Resurection.) or a sequel to fusion. I'm not a fan of a new sub series, But i think A prequel along the lines Of Skyward Sword or a Sequel would be nice.

Metroid Prime are too Cannon. And super metroid predates any Prime. All you have to do is scan the Pirate database on Metroid Prime 1 to read a story about Samus destroying Zebes. Ridley is recreated in Prime 1 from being beaten on Zebes, and the rediscovery of metroids on Tallon. There is just too much factual evidence to disprove that prime are not part of the main storyline and that super metroid somehow came after Prime. Just. Not. Possible.
