I always freeze my bananas , and as they thaw, the juice goes to the bottom of the bowl- that juice goes into the batter - it makes it more banana tasting.

My mother was a wonderful cook and made everything from scratch. The cake that I asked for most (it was hard to decide) was chocolate cake with seven minute frosting. It always tasted like a Susie Q to me.❤ I miss my mom so much. My grandmother taught me how to make homemade angel food cake when I was seven years old. I’m not sure if it’s correct but I always think of frosting as what you put on a cake and icing is what you decorate cookies with. Frosting stays creamy whereas icing hardens.

That is a beautiful cake recipe, Marie. Looks wonderful. As far as frosting and icing goes, I always thought you frost a cake (fluffy), and you ice cookies (thinner and shiny). Also, it maybe depends on where one lives--e.g.: is it pop or is it soda? I'm with Moira recommendation of carrot cake. I love carrots and carrot cake.🥕🥕🤗

Yes, I’m working on a lemon loaf now (does that sound good), and then I make a zucchini bread using the same recipe as the pumpkin bread but with 2 cups zucchini instead of 1 c pumpkin and 1 c zucchini. mariesaba.com/recipes/better-pumpkin-bread/ You can make it with gluten free flour or all purpose. I really like it with 1 cup gluten free flour + 1 cup oat flour. Hope that helps! Also, what about an apple bread? I need to get an apple bread up for fall! Yum! 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup white sugar 1 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup butter 2 teaspoons vanilla 3 eggs 1 cup milk 1/2 cup sour cream 3 very ripe bananas

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×13″ baking pan. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together sugars and butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla, eggs, milk, sour cream, and bananas, and beat again to combine. Then add dry ingredients and beat to combine once more, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. Pour batter into the greased pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely. Top with cream cheese frosting and enjoy!

There is a difference between icing and frosting. Frosting is heavier. And thicker. Has to be spread. While icing is more liquid. Can be drizzled and more shiny. So saying they are the same is not correct. Just so you know

I always remember that icing is a bit more thinner , smoother and shinier than frosting but not as quite thin as a glaze..I love banana cake.. I make banana muffins with peanut butter streusel topping I also use that on my banana bread.. I have a peanut butter cake recipe with that steusel .. I just thought hmmm i bet it is good on the muffins or the bread..
