Ingredients:
For the Cake:
【pan size 8inch/8inch】
1 cup all-purpose flour (120 grams)
1/3 cup (35g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (113 grams)
1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams)
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup whole milk (120 milliliters)
For the Tres Leches:
1/2 can (8 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (200 grams)
1/2 cup milk (120 milliliters) Hot.
1/4 cup heavy cream (60 milliliters)
2tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (15 grams)
For the Topping:
1/2 cups (120gm) whipping cream
50gm dark chocolate (melted)
1tbsp cocoa powder
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 8/8 inch baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the 1/2 cup of whole milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Bake 175℃ preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, prepare the Tres Leches mixture. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, hot milk, heavy cream, and cocoa powder until well combined.
Once the cake is out of the oven and while it's still warm, poke holes all over the surface using a fork or skewer.
Slowly pour the Tres Leches mixture evenly over the warm cake, allowing it to soak in. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
Before serving, spread chocolate whipped cream icing over the top of the cake . (optional)👉 garnish with grated chocolate or chocolate shavings if desired.
