Interesting to hear how takamba has changed. The pace seems to be becoming slower when I listen to this compared to their work in the early 2000's and then recently. BTW, they have a new recording coming it this year, 2016. I love takamba and Super Onze in particular. Thanks for sharing this.

Frenetic sounds from the Sahel. Super Onze play Takamba music, using a lineup of an n'goni and various percussion devices, with voice accompaniment. This is an nth generation duplication of a cassette recorded sometime in the mid to late 80s (so before they started electrifying), entitled Achalal. I've never heard the n'goni played this fast. This may not blow everyone's mind, but if you're into it, it's worth sticking it out through the full 21 minutes.
