Nice boot, but I've been through 2 soles in a year. The lugs aren't solid, the TPU fills half way, I've also found the heel lugs can break and tear on rough terrain. Comfy to walk in for sure, just not very long lasting and pricey too. Would suit the occasional hiker perhaps, mine are for daily use (work & snow) in the Alps and hiking coastlines in Portugal.

Great video, enjoy Mont Blanc! Just purchased these for my trip to Mt. Toubkal next month and I’m just wondering if you think these would be warm enough between 3000-4000m? Seen comments saying they’re good at around -8.

Hey Martin, glad you enjoyed the video ... I just did this one off the cuff so wasn't sure how it would come across (not that experienced with the review videos but each one I do I learn). We did Pico de Aneto (3404m) in these in September '22 it was 0 degrees on the top with -10 chills and I was fine. To increase warmth you could try a smart wool liner sock and then something like the thrudark mountain socks (the big ones). You can also put a good Gaiter over the top (I actually sometimes use my keb eco shell trousers built in Gaiter and then put my Berghaus gaiters layered on). It depends on the weather forecast and also the weather that isn't forecast if that makes sense! I think -8 is about right but you could probably push further. B3s traditionally are so uncomfortable (I've been through 3 different brands and boots and still can't find the right one). Warmth Vs comfortability - if you find one that nails both let me know! I am keeping an eye on the la sportiva gtechs which are actually a b3 based on the equilibrium B2! Thanks for stopping by and welcome to the channel 😊🙏🏔️

Are these true to size or will I need to go up a whole size. I had the La Sportiva Mid GTX Raptors and I had to go a whole size up so just want to be sure I get the correct size, especially as I want to wear these all year round and of course in winter I’ll have multiple layers of socks on so will need it to fit well. Hi Ollie 👋 For me they are true to size. I always wear thick socks on (just one pair). You can always measure your feet at ellis brigham in person and then compare to boot specs then make a decision. Suggest you try them round the house for a few days and make sure you are 100% if you aren't send them back

Hi Kyle, welcome to the channel and thanks for stopping by 👍. These have kept my feet dry for years now! The wettest conditions they have been through was 8 hours non stop rain in the scafells, it was a truly horrific boggy day!

Do they soak in long snow walks? I have big problem with my boots now that even when I use DWR coating on them they tend to soak and there is basically no breathability...

Hi Daniel, thanks for stopping by and welcome to the channel 👍⛰️🥾 I naturally do this with any boot to ensure they last a long time. However, if you got these out of the box, you could go and hit the mountains in snow for hours on end and be absolutely fine (this is my experience).

Hi there, is the question relating to waterproofing? Are you concerned about your feet getting wet? I wouldn't worry as this boot has done hundreds of miles and been fine. I would suggest you care for the boots with nik wax, though 👍

Hi mate, good to hear from you 👍 So the worst conditions these have been through were The Cairngorms in February. It was -3 actual and the chill was -10, the ground was snow, I had thick socks on (thrudark mountain socks) and berghaus gtx gaiters. They were toasty the whole time. However, if I was at super altitude 3000-4000m (and above) with snow I don't think they would be that warm which is why I am looking to get the trango tower extremes (b3) for mont blanc. Hope that helps buddy 🙏

I’ve got the tech/fabric versions and they’re good down to a snowy -8 I would say.. keep your legs warm and they’d be fine..

Yes extremely comfortable walked hundreds of miles in these. Try a size up or a size down and also try the surgeons knott

Hey Jonathan! Welcome to the channel mate. Never had any issues with them! I've been up the Aneto Glacier with them on, and they worked a treat. I've been all over the UK with crampons on and never had a problem. I recommend the Grivel Air Tech lights - New matic (aluminium).
