In the series itself, the name "Frank" comes from Frankenstein's monster. It's just one of several names he's referred to by, such as EX-1 (pronounced "Extra One") by military organizations such as Funeral and Mr. Fairy by Hattie. Aside from being revived by an scientific experiment, he actually doesn't have as strong a conceptual resemblance to Frankenstein's monster as the name would suggest. For a mecha series more fundamentally inspired by the story of Frankenstein, a better example would actually be Tetsujin #28, which emphasizes that the robot has no innate predisposition towards good or evil, just as Frankenstein's monster was a blank slate that only became evil due to the influence of humanity.

It looks like KZbin is still hiding some of your replies, but I did end up publishing a video on Gorevo. You should be able to find it in the Super Robot Showcase playlist. I normally wouldn't immediately make something based on a suggestion but since Go-3 Elemental Wheel is such as a short series, I thought it would be a good one to release while I looked at a much longer series.
