Finding videos like this is the equivalent of an archaeological dig that unearths an ancient civilization and an insight into their culture and way of life! This is priceless! this is no variety at all this is all the same genre of music lmao. Now literally any kind of band can blow up, hip hop, r&b, electronic, metal, crooner, soundtrack, etc. 80s was like AOR, hard rock, or edm. That's it. All genres that now you get hit singles on as well.

@@TobyIKanoby except for 1980-1985 (remember number of the beast, piece of mind, powerslave, live after death) wow that run. 1980 Back In black, british steel, screaming for vengeance, dio holy diver, van halen fair warning etc.. wow. after that it went downhill with albums like Turbo, hairspray, blonde curly hair and all that shit....
Jeez. One of the few moments Jon Bonjovi really sang his headvoice. In original tune. Not his prime performance in total, but still great to see this. 17:05

Very professional performances. I was 20 in 84' it was great times. These men are so young. Long and lean and tanned and lovely.... 40 years ago. Filmed and mixed great with just the hits....!! No auto tune back then.

Thank you for posting this amazing video! From time when Bon Jovi wasn’t huge yet. All they had was Runaway - the song that created the band. I was 9 years in 1984 and it would still take a couple of years before I’d find rock. But Bon Jovi was one of the first ones for me.
I had never heard of Anvil before. And now I know why. Lol.

Matthias Jabs has always been such underrated guitarist. I guess having to live in the Scorps legacy shadows of Michael Schenker and Uli Jon Roth - but never understood why he didn't get more props.

I saw Anvil 6 months before this show on Feb 14th, 1984 in Boston at the Orpheum theatre. They were the opening band for Aerosmith.

@@trillrifaxegrindor4411That is what the legend says. However, the reason they never made it big, is becase they are just never captured that many fans. Out of the bands here, they are the weakest in my opinion.

@@nomadnomad9517 Some of their stuff has real potential, but they really should have taken the offers to join other bands. The two core members are pretty good. That said, looking at their live shows, they've never had a truly solid line up since back when this was filmed. Always lineup changes. Also, they sound horrible live these days. Lips cannot sing the parts, and some of the leads are just... bad.
