Samus just looked away from her. "This victory only means that my survival skills will keep me going. Nothing more, nothing less," she said.
"A wise answer," Palutena said. "...Let's get into another topic... Tell us about your love life."
"No," Samus said as she started to walk away.
Palutena warped in front of the bounty hunter to stop her. "C'mon," she pleaded.
Samus turned around, only for Palutena to stand in her way again. "Why must you keep insisting on that? I do not care about my love life now," she said.
Chris decided to step in, feeling a boiling tension coming from the blond woman. "Palutena, if you really value your life, I wouldn't continue pressing her," he said.
"Foolish little Chris. I'm sure that with enough pressing she will talk extensively to answer my question," Palutena said. "Don't you want to know if she's into you? It's every gamer's dream to have someone like her."
"..." Despite how Samus hadn't reacted at that statement, Chris blushed deeply in embarrassment. "SAMUS, STOP HER!"
A minute later, Palutena found herself buried into the ground with her head sticking out from it, with Samus having left the scene. Despite the beating she got, Palutena looked quite happy. "Imagine what would've happened if Captain Falcon had been involved in this! I so need to see her reaction," she told Chris. "Quick. Start arranging a meeting between them and lie to the captain that there's a rumor about Samus looking for her life partner."
"Oh no, I'm not doing that for you," Chris said irked.
The goddess chuckled. "Pfft, it makes no difference. I'll do it myself."
"(This woman is so out there...)"
Key Notes:
I think I'm starting to see why people like ZSS more than normal Samus. They were kinder to her in this game by giving her a more original move set with those jet-powered shoes... A shame people can't stop making jokes about it and generally think that it's sexist to Samus' character somehow.
