Super Smash Bros. Melee | Playable Master Hand Glitch

I was playing Melee a few days ago and I found out via GameFAQs how to become and play as Master Hand. This is just me messing around in Final Destination and Event 50 & 51 with Master Hand.

8:47 the reason why crazy hand is not attacking is because he is waiting for you to press x or y (or both) so u can perform a co op attack Although doing that will result In a success but will also hurt yourself In the process and he will attack again until he feels like doing it again...

One of my buddies tried this around the time I made the video and he said he hit a metal box and it does indeed put a metal coating around Master Hand. I expect it would look amazing. :P

Vesper It’s the data from the boss master hand, which is why the moveset is broken as no one was ever meant to play as him. Master hand is the first character stored in the game, so when the character select screen is passed, he’s automatically loaded.

you can play as crazy hand you need to perform the glitch and fight him for a while and crazy hand will come out but the game will slow down

the physics of the glitch is the same physics as finding missingno. You screw up the game so you mess up the pokemon render thing so no pokemon are next, so it throws in the first pokemon/master hand on the list.

thats exactly what it is, like missing no. his Pokemon ID is 000, because if the game cant figure out theid f what it needs to find, so the closest possible number is 000, and thats exactly what happens with MH,his ID in the game is 000, (or on the lines of that) and when you do the glitch, it cant find the character you can play as, so itll go for the next possibility that is out *000* master hand.

Nope, didn't use an emulator. This was recorded on my Wii with progressive scan enabled, that's why the quality looks much better than it should.

in order for a character to be playable there has to be programming for his abilities. the fact you're able to do anything with it means it's sort of an easter egg

You can do stamina, although it's in Special Melee when selecting a melee.

An easy way to beat these guys is to select Fox and keep firing your laser gun because Mewtwo and Ganondorf will be shielding themselfs until it runs out and they get dizzy so you just use the fire recovery move on Giga Bowser while there stuned and do it repeatedly until everyone is defeated

When facing computer AI, lower leveled AI cannot recognize Master Hand's location. They will act as if he isn't there. Now event 51 their level must be between 6 and 9 so it's unknown what level AI minimum is needed to recognize that he's there.

His moveset and the odd activation buttons imply that this functionality on masterhand was put in the game for debugging purposes during development. Then some players found out how to enter this mode. That's my theory.

You can't have the character chip appear. basically don't go above the player 3 select box. confuses the game even further.

you need player 3 slot and master hand also has no victory animation so force quit when you are about to win or do something that doesn't show victory animation.

Wait. If he has a move set and all of the animations are there for each button to make combinations with etc. Doesn't that mean that at one point Master Hand would have been a playable character? Like, during development or something and then just didn't become a playable character in the final game.

Yeah. I didn't necessarily mean MH being an actual playable character as in it could be used as one of the Melee characters but more as in just had the moveset listed down on the D-pad, buttons etc cause the developers were maybe using MH during development. I'm not sure either but hopefully you get what I mean.

I think the reason why he is called Shiek because, since Sheik can't be selected on the character selection screen, but he's a playable character, Master Hand is the same. So it would make sense why he's called Sheik. Do you know what I mean?

I did it it's easy if you do only two players if you do it right you go to stage select select a stage And begin . Note your game could freeze its better to do stamina so you can be killed here is his moves b up b down and basically like that and xxfalloutxx it does work you need two people make one on back and name entry then press a on both at the same time if done correctly you should be on stage select plus only p2 p3 and p4 can only be master hand also you have to select a charecter for the player you want master hand to fight their that should work I'm only 11 I lost this game but still know my stuff

(spoilers) I've saw some leaks and I saw that one of them was in World Of Light it's in the last lv before the final boss. The mission is: beat 50 evil clones with Master Hand. u get a certain amount of time and u get 700 HP. although I really want to know if he's playable in normal matches as well.

If you do the glitch a couple 100 times. you'll usually glitch out. so be careful, it harms you MEMORY CARD.
