Fun fact: The smash 4 trophy for King K. Rool said maybe if one day he had a change of heart he could become friend with Donkey Kong. Then, in Joker's reveal trailer there's a clip where joker steals K. Rool's crown, stealing his treasure, which in p5 causes someone to have a change of heart. Now, K. Rool, Diddy and D.K. are all hanging out. Now this is character development.

@@sO_RoNerY well 1. They're back after so long of a hiatus 2. They're legendary characters that have deserved a spot in Smash for so long 3. It shows how good the Microsoft and Nintendo relationship is now of days, meaning more Microsoft (Xbox) games on Switch 4. It opens up the door to western made and published characters (even though K. Rool, Diddy Kong, and Dark Samus were made by western studios, they're still owned by Japanese Nintendo. Banjo's games were made and published by Rare themselves so they're the first fully western/non Japanese character in Smash history)

To me, Banjo being in Smash was more of a welcome back party than an invitation to a celebration of video game history. After all, he was born on a Nintendo console before Rare made the switch to Microsoft.

Also fun fact, all the characters who appear at the end of the trailer before the screen does the transition animation with the jiggies are all characters who were made during or before Banjo’s games which I think was a nice little touch. As if it were implying the 90s characters have known all along their friends were missing and they are all happy to seem them again (as are the fans).

When Banjo is hanging on the ledge and Kazooie pops back inside the backpack, I love how her head stays still in space while her body goes down. That's totally a bird thing, the way they can stabilize their heads the same way as a steady-cam. Just a cool detail that makes her more bird-like, I love it.

I would love it if the camera took the players all over Spiral Mountain. They could fight on top of Banjo's house, throw vegetables at each other in the garden, throw boulders at each other in the pit, jump on tree stumps in the other pit, fight up Spiral Mountain as the camera rotates around them, fight on the bridge to Gruntilda's lair, then start all over. Also, it would be great if, as Gruntilda flew by, her word bubbles became platforms that players could jump on.

There's a screen shot of Spiral Mountain that shows two floating platforms to either side of the main mountain platform when the bridge isn't connected. I honestly can't figure out how this stage functions. Also in that same shot you can see the dragonfly from the intro flying around as well as a golden life trophy.

I think you fight on the bridge at first then it falls and you move to the top of spiral mountain. That would be my guess interesting stage though.

I think the missing bridge from Spiral Mountain to the entrance of Grunthilda's Lair might also be a reference. In the original game, if you don't choose to skip the tutorial, the bridge is also not really existent as well (there are just two ropes) but gets repaired by Bottles after Banjo and Kazooie accomplished every step of his tutorial.

The back air is a more reference to the wall clinging attack with kazzoie packing. Imagine if banjo was in the air instead of hanging, because how it functions the ratatat is more over the front of the head than the side. That's why the ledge grab attack could be, since of how kazzoie packs from the backside that front.

heres something of note, when Kazooie does the egg launching from the standing in place stance, the eggs have a yellow aura around them, but when the move transitions to movement, the glow is now blue, I think thats a indicator that the standing still position does more damage then the one on the move

You missed one big reference guys. K. Rool, DK, and Diddy's reaction mirrored most fans' reactions. Myself included. I am so excited to see Banjo in Smash, as even though I never played the original games, I've watched them played a number of times. And, more than anything, I wanted them just because of how much it would mean to so many people, and because of how huge it would be for Smash as a whole. I mean, a Microsoft owned character now in Smash, further breaking down doors and walls as far as what can and can't happen for additions. Now all I want out of Banjo is ports of the first two games on Switch. I want to try out the games for myself, since Mario Odyssey really got me into a 3D Collectathon mood. It's why I'm so hyped for Spyro on Switch, after all.

I have tears every time I see parts of the trailer. It’s just so wonderfully emotional. I’ve been waiting so long. 18 years. To see this be real is something I’m never going to get used to. June 11th was the best day of my life. I will never be that happy again. Banjo-Kazooie is my second favourite game in existence and to have them home with Nintendo where they deserve to be and have deserved to be all these years, is an indescribable feeling. I honestly may never touch another character again once they’re released. I can finally say I have the characters I’ve always wanted in a series I’ve loved since I’ve been playing games. Since 64. Sakurai and Nintendo made something impossible, possible purely for the happiness of fans like me. I’ll never be able to repay them with enough gratitude for their tremendous efforts.
