Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has many interesting characters to main analyze. Today I'm going to go over Why YOU Should Main Roy in Smash 5 Switch or Smash Ultimate in a intro guide for beginners! SMASH 5 for Switch Hype!
(and as well give a VERY basic guide on his playstyle, what to focus on, and how to play him) all for #SuperSmashBrosUltimate
Ill be talking about Roy's changes in smash ultimate (buffs and nerfs), how Roy Gameplay has changed in Smash Switch and what you should focus on to get better at Roy with a little tutorial mini guide at the end.
Later on I want to make more in depth character analysis videos and advanced character guides but we will just have to wait for the full release of smash ultimate wont we!

I think you should to a WYSM Palutena. People think her Nair is a meme and that's all you really need to know, but there's a lot more to her than that. She's good and everyone knows it, but she has even more untapped potential that a lot of people should be aware of.

Its so sick that Roy is good in this game. I just wish they would buff Marth a bit to be on par with Lucina. Then we could relive the days of Melee where we compared Marth to Roy (without there being such an obvious answer). Im super happy for those devoted Roy mains.

@@kevinrivera9917 Results don't mean much; it really depends on the player, especially in ultimate, the most balanced smash game. It depends exponentially more on the skill of the player than the character, unless it's a bad matchup for one character (e.g. Little Mac vs Chrom). This isn't smash 4 where results meant something. To say something along the lines of 'if 2 players of equal skill played marth and lucina' would be too vague. If both players are as skilled as melee players (at least in terms of awareness) marth will usually co.e out on top, but in all lower skill levels lucina would. Lucina is mainly used in tournament because she is easy to pick up and play as a pocket, which is why characters such as robin and shulk (who arguably have the most potential in the game) aren't getting picked by better players, because to really get results with them, you have to commit to learning them

@@nitez2730 marths sourspots have become significantly more punishable to the point where prominent Marth mains such have Mr. E have switched to lucina for consistency. This is not a coincidence. Trust me id love for Marth to be better than lucina because hes much morr interesting, but fact of the matter is Lucina accomplishes things much more consistently than Marth.

@@kevinrivera9917 the sour spot being easily punished is actually a glitch that only happens with forward air for some reason, the shieldstun is much shorter than it should, but punishing a sour spot should be very hard for any character that isnt shulk or chrom, because not only is it a sword but marth has a get out of jail free card with short hop nair aka his best defensive option, which automatically allows you to get into tipper range if you are too close if you perform the move correctly

Hi ! Great video, I'm a Roy main and you almost covered everything except one of his best tool, his Neutral B. It's the best charged attack in the game, killing Bowser from the center of FD when fully charged, it's safe on shield if hold for a little, it can be turned around and there is no sweetspot/sourspot mecanic on this move. Hope you make a more advanced tutorial on him soon !

@@thebleachbartender1312 since you can turn it around and trap opponents and some people are too impatient you can fully charge it sometimes. But even if not fully charged it can kill pretty easily. Not the easiest move to pull off, but damn, it's satisfying !

I play toon link and I wouldn’t say he’s being slept on but I know for a fact that he has not reached his full potential. Like Joek said, his aerials are pretty good and he has not a bad combo game. Also you have some pretty long ranged projectiles and are floaty to (bomb and arrow) that u can use to camp out people or to out range....... Simon and Richter🤭🤔
