Basically the way it puts fighters to sleep is by having a massive hitbox that covers the whole screen but doesn't do knockback... it still does damage though, and fighters hit by it fall asleep (kinda like how Jigglypuff's Up Special works, but a lot bigger).

King Dedede is still cool regardless how many times he fails challenges, i wish i could say the same for other kirby games though like kirby battle royale on 3DS on other hand?...... he was quite a douche when he denied when kirby actually won in kirby tournament and eventually got too far in the end and the waddle Dee were like, "Thats Enough your highness! what you're trying to prove? kirby won fair and square so give him his Royal Cake already"

So basically any FS with some sort of "grab" and/or cinematic mechanic fails to initiate the "grab" (which by extention fails to initiate the cinematic due to them needing the "grab" to work). Funny how Jigglypuff's and Peach's/Daisy's worked though. Sonic's also would not have worked at higher HP.
