this was the darn COOLEST PRODUCTION OF A BURNOUT VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN! Ive been watching burnouts and hot rods forever, and the stones music, the history of the car, etc. was PHENOMENOL !! THANK YOU !! THANK YOU !! Also, the fact that it was an overlooked plymouth savoy from the past is SO DAM cool! It was not a STUPID CHEVY LS MOTOR crap!

I saved one of these bodies (2 dr Htp) from going to the wrecking yard back in the '90s. I saw it neglected in a back yard on an obscure street and bought it from the lady who had NO IDEA what she had, then sold it to a guy in Hemmings Motor News who collects and restores these great cars. There's nothing like seeing another old Mopar Muscle Car lurking the streets again! Mopar or Nocar!!! ;-)

When I was in the Army at FT. Riley KS in 1980 a good friend from FLA that had one of these, a real BAD ASS CAR for sure, on the street and track both it shamed many newer muscle cars BADLY!!!

Plymouth's answer to Chevy's big gun 409. One of these 413s ran an 11 second 118mph in the quarter mile in 1962 (Modified of course), it broke the record for fastest pass with a passenger car at that time. The Savoy and Belv. were also some of the lighter bodies of muscle cars then, people would order them with the 413 super-stock and no heater or radio to save even more weight. Cool cars. I'm still more of a Chevy guy though, grew up listening to my dad talk about his Camaro.

That is badass and love the body lines on those earlier darts. My first car was a 68 Charger and was that same medium blue on the dart. I am buying a 73 Dart thats got a built 413 mill in it and is a little bad ass. Don't know how much power it's making but by the way it drives compared to other Mopars that I owned as well as my Challenger SRT8, and am pretty sure that it would gap it rather easily and can't wait to get it to the track to beat up on some late model Mustangs and Camaros 😎

No way , the Max Wedge would beat any Goat of the 1960s and I speak from experience. I had a 1969 GTO Ram III and that Super Stock 413 would tear me up . Sorry just being real. You got low 12s against low 14s

I was a kid when these came out. I never liked them because of the styling. They were highly used by taxis, and police. I never appreciated them until they began to hotrod them. Just a wide tire and exhaust change give these cars a whole new bad attitude demeanor. A friend of mine had a 62 Dodge something like this in High school in the 70s. His had just a 318 but he hot-rodded it the best he could and sounded great and ran pretty good with a 3 speed trans.

Your not wrong, concerning GM. I was just adding an important detail because Mopar deserves at least some credit for doing it before GM.

Vintage classic movie, It's a Mad Mad Mad World has a 1962 Plymouth Wagon in the movie. The 62 Plymouths are the best looking cars ever made. Desoto's were planned for 62 before their demise 11/30/60 and they resembled the style of the 62 Plymouth.

Well, no, GM claims the GTO (introduced in 1963, not 1964) to be the first big-block in a mid-sized car at a much more affordable price. Also, GM introduced the 409 earlier than 1962.

...except of course, I didn't say that, Matt. I said it was the first big block in a mid-size car, not the first ever in =any= car. If that's wrong....oh, well...have a nice day.
