Super Ultralight Gear

5 pound (2.28 kg) Base Weight - SUL - Super Ultralight. This 5 Lb base weight gear is for warm weather, fair weather hiking. It gives full bug & rain protection and pretty good comfort.
This is part of a series on base weight gear videos ranging from 1-10 pounds. It was really just for fun to see what gear would be possible at these weights.
It was fun dialing, dialing, dialing, down to this gear list poring over each item again and again asking myself do I really need this, can I substitute it for something lighter and still maintain safety and comfort. What would I do if I didn't have this item, how else could I make do? What fun it was, and the massive upside is when 5 Lb is on your back - or 12 Lb when fully loaded for a weekend hike with food and water - it's going to be hard to put stuff back in for a bit more comfort back into the UL weight range (5-10 Lb). But i will do it of course as I like a few more comfort items sometimes.
