Guys please. Carbon rods ARE NOT to be stored in a car, especially during the summer because the extreme heat will most likely damage those rods, will reduce their lifespan. I wonder why u need your thumb to fight a snakehead when you have a drag on your reel and plenty of line? I agree that a water with heavy vegetation can be a huge problem but in this situation you will need to use a stronger rod, thicker line, heavier combo.

Last summer while visiting my son at university in Kansas I caught a 3-foot gar on the spinning version of that same rod. For the price I consider it a beater travel rod so I horsed the gar without care or concern. No problem whatsoever. I visited again this summer and am here as I write this. Nothing as big as that gar but I flip bass all the time no problem. The rod tip is way stronger than it might seem.

I recently bought an 8ft, heavy action casting version of the Blackhawk II. I matched it with an Abu Garcia 6500C3, and spooled the reel with 40 lb KastKing Superpower braid. I attached a one ounce spoon and the rod busted in half on the very first cast. The lure only went 20 ft. I have been using telescopic rods for many years and am certain everything was seated properly. The rod must have been defective. Unfortunately it is 3 days after the 30 day Amazon return window. There is a "lifetime warranty", but Kastking pretty much charges you to replace it no matter if it is defective or not. Of course, they will never admit to it being defective anyway.

In my country, people are extremely prejudiced towards things that are out of the ordinary for them in their daily lives and seeing a person carrying a fishing rod in their hands generates looks of astonishment or comments that it is a program for people of low social status. They don't understand that fishing is a sport and that it can be practiced by everyone, even those who don't depend on fish to survive. Therefore, buying a telescopic rod of the best model available, for example. The DAIWA BBB and being able to hide it inside a backpack, avoids this entire unpleasant situation, in addition to being very practical and reliable. I love putting all my fishing gear in my backpack, taking the subway and going fishing without big bags in my hands.

@@FloBass Thank you. I'm a total noob. What reel would you recommend for a telescopic rod like this? I just want something lightweight that I could throw on the side of my ALICE pack when I go hiking and camping. My favorite camping spot has a huge lake so I'd just be passing time and messing around. Nothing serious.

will this work for salt water blues and stripers of the pier?
@FloBass3 жыл бұрын
They make an in shore spinning model for bigger game fish. But if you're fishing off a pier you'll probably be wanting to lift the fish up with the rod, and I don't recommend doing that.

Can someone kindly tell me what's the biggest pound fish I can catch with this
@FloBass3 жыл бұрын
Kastking makes multiple versions of this rod with different lengths and powers. You need to ask yourself what type of lures and/or weight you'll be casting, then the size fish you're targeting. Once you know this, then you can look at the offerings they have for the blackhawk 2 and determine if they make a rod that will handle what you intend to do with it.

@@FloBass is there a good version for fishing bass and pike? Thats mainly what i get around here. Might add that im totally new to fishing. Was thinking about getting a KastKing Spartacus II. Would that be good?
@FloBass3 жыл бұрын
If the pike aren’t big. Around 30” and less then the 7’1” medium heavy that I’m using in this video will work fine. But if the pike are bigger, the 8 foot casting rod will be better. I don’t have any experience with their reels. They’re reasonably priced and used by a lot of people so I don’t think you can go wrong.

@@FloBass superthanks for the fast answer. I'll have to explore more in to the reels 😁👍👍 should i go for a spinning or casting version, i dont know the difference between the versions?

@@FloBass what type of line would we use with a reel on this pole, typically I use braid but since the tip is sensitive should I use something that will stretch like monofilament?

Can this rod handle 6 - 10lb barramundi?

Yes. Just don’t lift it out of the water with the rod.

Hey man What should i use for saltwater? Spinning rod or cast rod for that model ?? Honestly I don’t know what are the different between spinning and casting rod ? I happy if u can explain to me. Thanks and I appreciate your help.
@FloBass4 жыл бұрын
For salt water get one of the inshore spinning rods. You’ll be able to use a reel with more line capacity than most casting reels and will be able to make longer casts.

I didn't fish with a jig in this video, so I'm not 100% sure, but I think you're asking what weight I used with the worm or swimbait? It was 1/4 ounce.

Do u think a BLACKHAWK II 6’6 medium fast action rod would be good for multi species from sunfish to bass?
@FloBass4 жыл бұрын
The power of the rod you use really depends on the baits you'll be throwing and the cover you'll be fishing around. If you're fishing around grass, you might want to consider going with a medium heavy. But if its more open and you're throwing baits that aren't heavier than 3/8 ounce, then the medium will work well.

FloBass thanks for the reply. Im going to Canada this summer and i needed a travel rod. Where im fishing in Canada its more open waters to small lily pads that are usually spread apart. If u hav any more advice it would be greatly appreciated🙂
