I appreciate the fact that S7 is releasing episode specific figures, and slowly peppering in regular cast. We all know the beginning of any toy line has the worst figures of the line.. it isn't until later waves and a few trials deep when a company catches it's full stride. I am glad they are saving the core cast. Plus it is a bit boring to just get the family 5 all over again. Their selections speak promise of longevity as well. To each their own thoughts though. Great review as always!

But for people who only want the original cast they wont buy any episode related figures and the line won't get sold and then the line will get shut downed with no release of the original cast

I truly love the variants from the top classic episodes. For me classic Simpsons was all about the supporting cast.

@4:57 makes sense the figure comes with 7 chips given the company that makes it name. i would put all the chips inside homers helmet so he can munch on them while the float around inside it at 0 gravity.

I think the way they chose to release them makes sense in a way. They seem to be highlighting popular or rare character releases from the original Playmates line along with designs never made to complement it. After a few waves as more pick up the line, then maybe we'll see more of the core cast. The original DS Homer from WoS Series 15 is one many missed and is one of the more expensive on aftermarket. I expect we'll probably see Devil Homer soon too.

considering how many companies have made simpsons figures over the years, i'm okay with them doing variant characters. i'd much rather this homer than a regular one.

But when is the last time we’ve gotten a regular version of the Simpsons family? To my recollection it’s the Playmates World of Simpsons figures which were from like the late 90s/early 2000s. The figure is cool but overpriced. Some definite missed opportunities by not including a flight stand and not making the chips strung together by clear plastic or something so they could float into his mouth.

Totally agree about the way the lines have been designed. Super7 is making super bizarre choices. I would love an updated line of Simpsons figures as I’ve been a long time fan and haven’t ever had any figures (I missed the boat on the World of Simpsons releases back in the day). The episode specific figures would be good if they were like one part of a wave. Like core character, a couple side characters, episode specific character should have been how the waves were done.

Generic homer has been done 1000x times and is boring, Deep Space Homer and Moomoo Homer are way cooler. Releasing normal Homer, Marge, Maggie, Bart and Lisa is again expected and boring and collectors would have tons of them already. You remember Homer for his iconic moments and lines, and a specific episode character has way more personality in that regard.

I disagree but thats ok, I think Collectors already have a normal Homer but that Homer is produced by another toy company and not in scale with the ones that we get from Super7, if Super7 Cancels out the simpsons line 4 waves in I'd rather a regular Homer to have on my shelf than a Homer from Space
