Super7 Ultimates! Silverhawks Wave 1 QUICKSILVER Action Figure Review

Good review. It sounds like you had a much better experience with your figure than I did. I got mine a couple weeks ago and quickly became pretty disappointed, especially after having Bluegrass and Steelwill (who are my favorite 'hawks) and really enjoying those. Quicksilver seems out of scale with the others. He feels a bit too big - I think it's because his head is especially large by comparison. That throws the proportions off overall. This is most noticeable next to Bluegrass who looks like a pinhead next to Quicksilver. Also, I had several of the typical Super7 QC issues - loose head/neck, loose right hip, loose ankles - many of the worst spots. I spent the better part of an afternoon trying to fix the joints with moderate success just to get him to stand. The other thing that bothers me is how far apart his eyes are. I believe Brian said at one point that they made some manufacturing change between wave 1 and 2 due to several joint/engineering issues. I don't recall if that included switching to a completely different factory. I think that accounts for the face printing on wave 2 - those faces look great. The Tallyhawk not being able to perch on his arm is another disappointing miss. I could have done with less articulation in the bird in exchange for the ability to actually perch on his arm rather than precariously balance on it. Really disappointing overall because I love this IP, but the execution by Super7 is lacking for me. I had high hopes given how Thundercats had evolved over the course of the line - Monkian was one of the best figures from a quality and engineering standpoint for me. But it seems they failed to translate the lessons from that line over to this one - and created new issues. I can see the potential here, but Quicksilver in particular just suffers from the "death of a thousand cuts" syndrome for me. I really wanted to like him but too many problems and misses. For others, I'd definitely say wait for it at a reduced price if you just have to have it. Not sure if I'll go in on any more going forward. These are just too expensive to keep having these types of issues.

All my silverhawks have QC issues to various degrees but Quicksilver has easily been the worst so all his other issues bother me even more. It's a shame because I really liked steelwill but each subsequent hawk has been worse and worse.

Search for Silverhawks model sheets and you can see that Quicksilver is the tallest of all Silverhawks

He's just a bit taller than Steelwill, mainly because of the "hair". And regular Monstar is the same height as Quicksilver.

the slip cover as pretty it is, adds insult to injury that we didn't get a chromed or metallic painted Quicksilver figure, but instead we have a shiny, silver box...lol!.. He should have been the Ultimate representation of a slivery, shiny silver hawk, its even in his name..I like Steelwill & BlueGrass, but he would still be a purchase of out necessity, I can't have a Silverhawk team without the leader.

I hate the fact that he doesn't include a smiling head like Steelwill... no expression at all with this guy. S7 needs to stablish a standard for this Ultimates figures, like the amount of heads they come with and the articulation on the birds.

At least he has his true color. The STEEL twins look like the blueberry twins, probably Super7 lazily reusing the paint from Bluegrass or just being cheap by not developing unique colors for all the Hawks as intended.

We agree on one thing some figures like power rangers doesn't need torso cuts. And you mean head looks down none. You dont have to praise the figure cause it was free. Should of made it like cobras mask shiny

What I notice about the Silverhawks is that none of them have the Silverhawk emblem on the left side of their chest.

I think the new silverhawks body is more proportion compared to the older thundercats body inherited from MOTUC

I got my wave 1 Hawks a couple weeks ago. There were some loose ankle rocker joints, but not too bad otherwise...except for that goofy non-ab crunch. It's the same on Steelheart and powered-up Mon*Star. I have to believe it was a production issue, and I assume they were *supposed* to have actual ab crunch like the wave 2 guys. It isn't a totally useless joint, but it doesn't do what it should. I also have issues with Tallyhawk not being able to rest securely on Quicksilver's arm. Overall, I love the way they look...I just wish the functionality were all there. Wave 2 (non-powered-up) Mon*Star is still my favorite of the line so far.

I will say the air bush on his armor looks so much better compared to the other figures. II don't know why S7 wonn't do this to all their stuff.

Let me rephrase this. I think everyone wants to likes these figures so much that they ignore the elephant in the room. They are not silver. That was the main draw for me as a kid. The back metal paint.

It is better than we first saw, but still not what it could or should have been. Super 7 just can't seem to get there act together regardless of how Brian spins it. It's a shame because they have such great licenses.

It’s fine but I won’t be getting it. No room and $55 means I have to pick and choose. These don’t make the cut. I did get Steelheart and I like Mon-Star but I have too much going on right now to spend $220 on a wave that is just kinda alright and no space for them. I do like the GI Joe line pretty well from what I’ve seen 🧐

i have bluegrass which was alwaysbmy favorite SH design amd i like it a lot. i have quicksilver coming within the next few days. i plan in airbrushing it with a silver paint to make it pop
