How many battery cells are inside the S73 Battery? This will tell you more if that battery is really worth the price or not. But honestly, I highly doubt it! That looks more to me like a $500-$600 battery. I can understand a markup for $800, but $1200 is just not worth the price.

Come on $1200 as we say in the UK there TAKING THE PISS out of there customers the CHI is $800. Aint NO WAY on this planet the parts for that battery cost more than $500 all in. So you can switch from one 73 battery to another well that means carrying the second battery in a backpack cos 73 dont sell the battery mount on its own so u have to ride with a heavy battery on your back as well as all the other gear u carry when riding. If they did sell the mount so u could carry it on your bike you would have almost a parallel set up so just get the CHI save $400. As for voiding the warranty how they gonna know you had a parallel set up (never heard of such a set up causing issues) unless you tell them. They have a captive market & are milking it for all its worth wouldnt be shocked to find them sitting round there boardroom table smoking there cigars laughing there heads off each time a order comes through for one shouting SUCKER.

The bike already way overpriced for what you get but they insult you with the prices of parts. No valid reason that that battery sure cost $1200 bucks. I built nice 72v 40Ah with a good BMS with balancing with brand name Panasonic, or Samsung 21700 cells for less.

Great video, yes I’m using that chi battery system, I was getting over five hours of battery life. I did however leave one of the batteries on for 20 minutes and hours result it’s not working properly. So be careful make sure the both batteries are charged at the same levels!

That's an expensive Battery Peter it's a shame, you dedicated Super 73 riders are caught because unless you know someone who builds batteries you are obligated to replace through the Company, I myself see builds every day and batterys are less than half that price and they are good brands too, Thankyou for your blog Dude very informative

That's a 400 dollar battery and S73 knows it. What a joke. To anyone reading this: The aftermarket exists. Give it a try, screw paying S73's inflated prices for the same Chinese battery you can find on Aliexpress for a quarter of the price.

@@thepeterparkershow My UPP is from there, no issues with it whatsoever. The garbage battery in my s73 went out after 6 months, so it's not a high mountain to climb to be better than that. It's the same anywhere, one has to do their due diligence and research something before they buy it. There are some shady US based battery manufacturers too, gotta be careful everywhere.

Not gunna lie. Once my warranty runs out and I feel like I need to double the battery I’d just change out the battery system. Would pretty much mount in the same spot anyway. It’s kinda shit with that much of a mark up. And also the battery’s aren’t being sold in the uk. Unless I special order them. Would have to see. Might drop them an email and see.

Lol listen dont listen to the company. They dont want that happening for selling reasons! People wont buy their batteries! You can spend less somewhere else! I know a company who sells the y adapter and its set up to make sure the batteries dont get damaged! Honestly i would not even parallel batteries anyway! I would just buy 1 massive battery from an after market company! Why? Because you can pay around the same or less as that battery you bought but have double the capacity!
