Do u ever lock up outside? What do you use to lock up/general bike security? Thinking about copping one of these but it's such a big flaming red "steal me" beacon in a place like philly
@eyebahnrides2 жыл бұрын
I feel you, that’s how any nice PEV feels in NYC as well. I’ve only locked my bike outside less than a handful of times and I use the Fugghedaboutit 1415 chain with the new Kryponite NY disc lock. I also have 2 brake lever locks I put on even indoors. I only do this for a few minutes if I can keep the bike in my line of sight. I’m blessed to work in a building with 24/7 security and a bike room under surveillance so I don’t have to worry about it too much.

@@eyebahnrides Ah yeah that makes sense I figured since you use it for commuting to a job in Manhattan you'd probably be able to get it into a pretty nice secure building lol. Seems like it's definitely not something to run errands around the neighborhood on since that's just too much time on the curb. Would probably only be able to use for getting to friend's homes where I can bring it inside, or just to go out on the trails since I work from home anyway. Will prob end up getting one of these within the next couple years regardless lmao they are just too fun.
@eyebahnrides2 жыл бұрын
@@cherry_blue I do believe it’s possible run errands with it and leave it out as long as you bring the battery with you. I’ve seen tons of just purely stock Super73s chained outside of buildings because folks are using it for deliveries. They’re all pretty beat up and I always see them in the same places . The only reason I’m super OCD about mine is it’s heavily modded and the mods make it hotter on the eyes for theft. There’s soo many e-bikes and scooters in NYC that it’ll blend right in despite the recognizable styling of the brand. I hope this helps!
@cherry_blue2 жыл бұрын
@@eyebahnrides That is super helpful and makes sense. I think an expensive ebike stands out a tad more in Philadelphia (depending on the neighborhood) than in NYC but hearing that you do see them outside regularly in the same spot without battery does put it into more perspective. Doing my best to make an informed decision and not get ripped off immediately like a dumbass lmao. Will take a look at the locks you mentioned, been eyeing the hiplok d1000 as well. Thanks so much! 🙏

Hey man great video, as for speed wide whats the fastest youve gone and I always wonder I am 6'2, would this bike seat wise be good?
@eyebahnrides2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The fastest I've gotten the bike is 31-33 mph and I'm over 200lbs with gear and my work bag. I'm only 5'8, with the seat and stock height is a little high for me (the Onyx RCR Shorty and CTY2 are the perfect height for me). I've seen some really tall folks on the bike here in NYC and in the forums. The solution I've seen them implement is get a thicker seat and switch from a 1-up to a 2-up seat. The 2-up seat allows them to slide back a little bit to give their longer legs and arms room. Keep in mind, pedaling ergonomics is terrible regardless of height but could be worse for taller folks. However, you're never really "pedaling" because pedal assist does most of the work for you. Hope this helps!

@@eyebahnrides cool man thats actually pretty dang fast, i have a juiced scorpion before so just looking at some videos to see if i should switch over, i really appreciate the response man and yes it helped a ton thanks for the suggestion :)
@eyebahnrides2 жыл бұрын
@@aco3495 you’re welcome. If you get a softer spring for the suspension and the thicker seat, it’s going to be like riding on a cloud! So coming from a hardtail like the scorpion, you’ll really appreciate the ride comfort. As for the performance, I’m pretty sure that it won’t have as torque as your scorpion, but the top end speed should be about the same. Just keep in mind it does take some modding and a few upgrades to get it to that perfect ride feel, but it’s worth it once you get it to there!

@eyebahnrides2 жыл бұрын
I’m sure it’ll hold up as well as the scooter. It’ll probably take loss on range and speed, but nothing too crazy. The RX has actually been really reliable. Ill be posting a video testing it out on a long commute soon. I’m just waiting for brake pads to come in and it’ll be back on the road.
@johnjacob34462 жыл бұрын
Great video. Love your mods. Quick question on the blur boundaries mirrors. Did you ever try and attach them to end of the handle bar or did you always want them where they are currently located. I have a rx Mojave and I can’t seem to get them on the end so I may end up following your lead with placement.
@eyebahnrides2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm really happy with where the mods are now and I'll probably be making a video of what I did and why in the future. I wanted the mirrors at the end as well, but I can't mount them there because I use the Deity Supracush grips. Unfortunately, they have closed ends so I had to mount them on the inside. To be honest, I've grown to like the inside placement since all I have to do is look down a little to see what's going on behind me. I'm sure you'll end up liking it too!
@jackrobhp28 Жыл бұрын
I actually wanted to mimic how you had your mirrors because it's so much easier to just look down. I couldn't figure out how to do it and just sent them back, lol@@eyebahnrides

Thanks for chiming in. I agree with you, the amount of aggressive exchanges I’ve had with drivers, across different social media platforms, because of this video is crazy.
