trance is the one genre that has persisted for song long but has never really sold out, the DJ who started in pure glorious trance usually went on to big house festival shit but trance itself has just evolved a little but stayed true to its roots especially cos trance scene encourages diversity by promoting all sorts of subgenres, look at Transmission - theres so much variety from Simon Patterson to Vini Vici to pure proggy supertab and 8, and above and beyond.
